Aim: In this study, we aimed to evaluate and compare the characteristics of pediatric and adult rhupus patients.

Methods: Thirty pediatric patients with rhupus syndrome and 15 adult patients with rhupus syndrome were included in this study. Similarities and differences between both groups were evaluated.

Introduction We aimed to assess whether partial hepatectomy has an influence on conventional and speckle tracking parameters on echocardiography in living liver donors in the early postoperative period. Methods This study was a retrospective study to investigate the cardiac effects of liver donation after the transplant operation in a high-volume liver transplant center. Ninety living liver donors were included in the study.

Isolated Bilateral Adrenal Metastasis in Castration-Resistant Prostate Cancer: A Case Report and Literature Review.

Prostate cancer frequently metastasizes to regional lymph nodes and bones, but metastasis to the adrenal glands remains rare, particularly in isolation. This case report presents an unusual instance of bilateral adrenal metastasis in a patient with castration-resistant prostate cancer. This case emphasizes the clinical relevance of adrenal metastasis in castration-resistant prostate cancer, highlighting the potential role of aggressive treatment strategies such as metastasectomy in isolated adrenal involvement, aiming to contribute to the limited literature on this rare metastatic pattern.

Case Report: Trendelenburg gait caused by retained drain fragment: a rare complication of total hip arthroplasty.

Retained drain fragments, though rare, can lead to significant complications in orthopedic surgery(1). This case report presents a 57-year-old woman who developed gluteal tendinopathy and Trendelenburg gait two years after a total hip arthroplasty (THA) due to a retained drain fragment. A less experienced surgeon encountered resistance during drain removal on the first postoperative day and applied excessive force, unknowingly leaving a fragment inside.

H syndrome with bilateral choroidal osteoma: Coincidence or association?

Purpose: To report a case with bilateral corneal arcus and bilateral choroidal osteoma associated with H syndrome.

Methods: Descriptive case report.

Results: A 16-year-old girl with H syndrome was followed up in the pediatric nephrology clinic for chronic renal failure and was consulted to the ophthalmology clinic.

Background: Gastro-esophageal variceal hemorrhage (GEVH) is one of the major causes of life-threatening gastrointestinal bleeding in children. Medical, endoscopic, angiographic, and surgical interventions can be utilized in treatment. In this case report, we describe partial splenic artery embolization for refractory GEVH due to portal vein thrombosis.

Shoulder Injury Related to Vaccine Administration (SIRVA) is a complication caused by improperly administered vaccinations. It triggers an inflammatory cascade that damages shoulder structures, resulting in prolonged shoulder pain and restricted range of motion. Common diagnoses in SIRVA patients include shoulder bursitis (all classified as subacromial bursitis), adhesive capsulitis, and rotator cuff injuries such as tears or tendinopathy.

Impact of electroconvulsive therapy on inflammatory markers in patients with severe mental disorders.

Objective: Evaluation of the effects of electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) on systemic inflammatory markers in patients with severe mental disorders and determination of potential clinical predictors of treatment response.

Methods: The current retrospective cohort study included 156 patients with psychotic and mood disorders who underwent ECT. Pre- and post-ECT blood samples were collected to assess inflammatory markers, including C-reactive protein (CRP), neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), and other complete blood count derived indices.

High dose aflibercept treatment in naive neovascular age-related macular degeneration.

Background: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of intravitreal injections of 4 mg (high dose) of aflibercept in treatment-naive patients with neovascular AMD(nAMD) with treat and extend(TREX) dosing regimens, and to determine the frequency of injections.

Methods: In this interventional, retrospective study a total of 15 eyes of 14 patients (eight female and 9 male) with nAMD were included. All patients were examined and OCT imaging was performed at the time of initial presentation, on the day of each injection and at subsequent follow-up visits.

Aim: The current study aimed to investigate the protective effects of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), metyrosine, and melatonin on possible methylphenidate cardiotoxicity in rats using biochemical and histopathological methods.

Methods: Thirty rats were separated into five groups: healthy (HG), methylphenidate (MP), ATP + methylphenidate (ATMP), metyrosine + methylphenidate (MSMP), and melatonin + methylphenidate (MLMP). ATP (5 mg/kg) was given intraperitoneally once daily, metyrosine (50 mg/kg) orally twice daily, and melatonin (10 mg/kg) orally once daily.

BACKGROUND Studies on patients with obesity who lose a considerable amount of body fat show that the severity of knee pain and movement limitation is decreased. This study aimed to analyze the effects of weight loss on knee pain and quality of life in patients with obesity. MATERIAL AND METHODS The study included patients aged 18-65 years with a body mass index (BMI) of 30 kg/m² and above, who expressed knee pain in daily life routines and applied to the Obesity Center of Adana City Training and Research Hospital as of June 2018.

Prediction of Prostate Cancer From Routine Laboratory Markers With Automated Machine Learning.

Background: In this study, we attempted to select the optimum cases for a prostate biopsy based on routine laboratory test results in addition to prostate-specific antigen (PSA) blood test using H2O automated machine learning (AutoML) software, which includes many common machine learning algorithms.

Methods: The study included 737 patients (46-88 years old). Routine laboratory measurements were used to train machine learning models using H2O AutoML.

Objective: The triglyceride glucose (TyG) index is a biomarker of insulin resistance and is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular events. Contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN) is an important complication that causes poor outcomes in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). In this study, we aimed to investigate the relationship between the TyG index and CIN and mortality in patients who underwent PCI due to chronic total coronary occlusion (CTO).

Comparison of Piperacillin-tazobactam and Vancomycin (TZP-VAN) with Piperacillin-tazobactam and Teicoplanin (TZP-TEI) for the risk of Acute Kidney Injury (CONCOMITANT): A prospective observational, multinational, multi-centre cohort study.

Objectives: Both vancomycin (VAN) and teicoplanin (TEI) augment the risk of acute kidney injury (AKI) when combined with piperacillin-tazobactam (TZP). We aimed to compare the risk of AKI among patients receiving TZP-VAN versus TZP-TEI.
