The combination of macroporous cryogels with synthetic peptide factors represents a promising but poorly explored strategy for the development of extracellular matrix (ECM)-mimicking scaffolds for peripheral nerve (PN) repair. In this study, IKVAV peptide was functionalized with terminal lysine residues to allow its in situ cross-linking with gelatin macromer, resulting in the formation of IKVAV-containing proteinaceous cryogels. The controllable inclusion and distribution of the peptide molecules within the scaffold was verified using a fluorescently labelled peptide counterpart.

The highest hemolytic activity of M. morganii cultivated in urine with low urea concentration (23 and 82 mmol/liter) was observed between 3rd and 4th hours of post-inoculation, while in urine with standard urea level (117 mmol/liter), the activity was observed at 5th hour of post-inoculation.

In many industrial applications, preparation of cyclodextrin (CD) inclusion complexes with drugs, food additives, dyes and components of essence oils is performed in solid mixtures, slurries or paste-like systems having lack of water to dissolve cyclodextrin and guest completely. Poly(3-hydroxybutyric acid)-based microspheres of two types, with and without macropores, were prepared; their morphology and particle size were evaluated. These microspheres were entrapped as disperse fillers into the bulk of macroporous cryogels based on poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA). It was found that the rigidity of the resultant composite cryogels increased markedly as compared to that of unfilled cryogels of the same PVA concentration.

Heating of linear dipeptides above a critical temperature initiates their cyclization even in the solid state. This method of obtaining cyclic dipeptides meets the requirements of "green chemistry", provides a high yield of the main product and releases only water as a by-product of the reaction, and does not require solvents. However, to date, the cyclization of only a small number of dipeptides in the solid state has been studied, and some correlations of the process were discovered.

The quick-to-court (qtc) gene is expressed in both males and females but affects only the mating behavior of males, probably due to the different composition of isoforms between the sexes. We tested this hypothesis and examined the sex-specific expression of qtc transcripts in the tissues of male and female Oregon-R flies. It was found that some qtc transcripts, such as qtc-RM and qtc-RN, are testis-specific, while others like qtc-RH are found in ovaries but absent in testes.

Materials And Methods: The search for studies was conducted in the electronic databases MEDLINE/PubMed, EMBASE, and RSCI (Russian Science Citation Index) from January 2000 to December 2022. The review included relevant publications in peer-reviewed periodicals in English or Russian, publications with data from cross-sectional epidemiological studies assessing the prevalence of GERD in the Russian population, studies on adult patients with GERD, and publications with detailed descriptive statistics that allow using the data in the meta-analysis.
Background: One of the reasons for the decrease of eradication effectiveness is its resistance to antibiotics.
Aim: To examine the prevalence of point mutations responsible for clarithromycin and levofloxacin resistance among the patients with upper gastrointestinal (GI) tract disorders in Kazan.

In this study, the effects of different combinations of the genes , , and injected both using direct virus-mediated injection (adenovirus, Ad5) and umbilical cord blood mononuclear cells (UCBCs) on the processes of stimulation of post-ischemic innervation, angiogenesis, and regeneration in skeletal muscle were investigated in a rat hindlimb chronic ischemia model. It was shown that more pronounced stimulation of angiogenesis and restoration of post-ischemic innervation were achieved both in the early (28 days post-ischemia, dpi) and late (42 dpi) terms of the experiment in the calf muscle when UCBCs delivered the combination of Ad5- and Ad5- compared to the direct injection of the same vector combination into the area of ischemia. At the same time, the inclusion of Ad5- in the combination of Ad5- and Ad5- directly injected or administered by UCBCs provided a significant increase in the number of centronuclear muscle fibers, indicating stimulation of post-ischemic reparative myogenesis.
