Genomic repeats are functionally ubiquitous structural units found in all genomes. Studying these repeats of different origins is essential for understanding the evolution and adaptation of a given organism. These repeating patterns have manifold signatures and structures with varying degrees of homology, making their identification challenging.

Background: Reproductive effects of chronic exposure to nickel (Ni), including sperm quality, have been a matter of debate given that published studies yielded contrasting results. We have, therefore, planned to systematically search and analyze medical literature with the aim to ascertain the association of exposure to nickel with the sperm quality in humans.
Materials And Methods: We systematically searched Pubmed, Scopus and Embase for studies reporting the association of Ni with the sperm quality in humans with no time or language limits and used PRISMA to report the findings.

An urgent problem in the agricultural science of livestock production is the adequate feeding of the queens of farm animals, in particular sheep kept on year-round pasture, especially in the second half of pregnancy and the first half of lactation. These periods are the most stressful, since the uterus does not receive enough necessary nutrients for the normal functioning of the body, embryonic and post-embryonic development of the offspring. In this regard, the purpose of our research was to increase the usefulness of the diet queens by carrying out additional feeding crushed barley with the inclusion of a mineral supplement developed taking into account the chemical composition of feed in Kazakhstan.

Radiobiological studies are ongoing to understand the consequences of internal exposure to neutron-activated radioactive microparticles, which were sprayed over experimental rats and mice. Special attention in these experiments is given to internal irradiation with radioactive microparticles with short-lived neutron-activated radionuclides 31Si (T1/2 = 2.62 h) and 56Mn (T1/2 = 2.

The discovery of the detrimental effects of asbestos on human health came long after its widespread use, with the first scientific evidence of asbestos-related diseases emerging in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Despite efforts to ban its use, asbestos continues to be mined and used in Central Asia (as well as in Russia, China, and other countries). To gain a deeper understanding of the situation in Central Asia, we have conducted a systematic review of scientific literature on the use of asbestos, exposure assessment, and health consequences of asbestos exposure in this geographic area.

Background: The recent announcement of the next WHO State of the World's Nursing and Midwifery Reports calls for a review of the state of nursing and midwifery worldwide. In the WHO European region, a broad set of health system reforms have been introduced in Central Asian countries (CACs), namely, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan. These reforms have become the focus of a series of sub-regional policy dialogs between CACs, led by government chief nursing and midwifery officers, to accelerate the implementation of a package of policies to strengthen the capacity of nurses and midwives and build health system resilience.

Students in higher education often encounter significant academic pressure, which can have profound implications for their mental health and academic performance. The current study employs a two-wave longitudinal design to investigate the dynamic interrelationships among academic stress, academic motivation, emotional intelligence, and mindfulness. The study employed a cross-lagged panel model to investigate the temporal interactions among these four constructs and their influence on the academic experiences of doctoral students.

Background: In Tajikistan, where there are about 8,000 cases annually, many new cases are being diagnosed with severe disease, indicating a delay in receiving care. We aimed to estimate the proportion with delayed care and the main factors contributing to delayed care.
Methods: Using a retrospective cohort design, we conducted a study that included all people aged over 15 years who were newly diagnosed with pulmonary TB in Dushanbe from 2019 to 2021.

Although an E3 ligase MDM2 is the major negative regulator of the p53 tumor suppressor, a growing body of evidence suggests its p53-independent oncogenic properties. In particular, MDM2 has been shown to regulate serine metabolism independently of p53 status in several types of neoplasia, including NSCLC. Using the GSEA approach and publicly available molecular data on NSCLC tumors, our bioinformatics data suggest that MDM2 affects a number of metabolic genes, particularly those encoding components of the electron transport chain (ETC).

This study developed a technology to prepare cupcakes with a reduced sodium content from fine whole-ground wheat flour and ozonated water. Cavitation technology was utilised to reduce the sodium content, to shorten the cooking time, and to improve the consistency of the dough by accelerated churning. The dough was obtained by cavitation loosening under compressed air pressure and increasing the speed to 900 rpm.

There are a large number of computer programs that allow you to automate computational and graphical operations for processing arrays of data and images. The foundations of these areas are very promising in the practice of solving problems of materials science, namely in metallography, based on the analysis of images of structures of metals and alloys. The standards describe various techniques, but they are all performed and calculated manually by the operator.

The search for new non-invasive methods of investigating the functioning of human internal organs is an urgent task. One of these methods for assessing the functioning of the human respiratory system is electromagnetic sensing, which is based on a significant difference in the dielectric permittivity of muscle tissue and air. During breathing, when the lungs are filled with air, the dielectric permittivity of the lungs decreases, which leads to a change in the level of the electromagnetic signal passing through the body.

Kaolinite stands out as a promising natural geomaterial for developing new therapeutic systems aimed at addressing global health challenges, such as multidrug-resistant infections. In this study, we report on the formulation and biological activity of a therapeutic mixture composed of white micronized kaolinite (KAO) and Ziziphora essential oil (ZEO), intended for topical application on infected wounds. GC-MS analysis revealed that the primary component of ZEO is pulegone, constituting 72.
