The solid variant of aneurysmal bone cyst is an expansile cystic lesion involving long tubular bones with unknown aetiology and usually occurs in the second decade of life. This is a paradigm of fibrocystic lesions. We report the rare case of a male with a biopsy-proven solid variant aneurysmal bone cyst of the cuboid that was mistakenly diagnosed as osteomyelitis.

Lipomas of the talus are rare benign bone lesions. They are usually atraumatic in aetiology with a male preponderance and generally occur between the third and sixth decades of life. We report the case of a man in his 30s who had presented with pain and swelling in the posteromedial aspect of his left ankle of 6 months' duration, associated with functional restrictions, and was diagnosed as a case of intraosseous lipoma involving the talus.

Mycetoma of the hand is a chronic granulomatous disease seen in the tropics and subtropical regions, mainly affecting the skin and subcutaneous tissue of the foot. Primary actinomycotic osteomyelitis involving the metacarpals is rarely reported in the literature. The conventional treatment for actinomycosis has been high-dose penicillin.

Neurofilaments are intermediate filaments present in neurons. These provide structural support and maintain the size and shape of the neurons. Dysregulation, mutation, and aggregation of neurofilaments raise the levels of these proteins in the blood and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), which are characteristic features of axonal damage and certain rare neurological diseases, such as Giant Axonal Neuropathy and Charcot-Mare-Tooth disease.

Methods: Water is the commonly used medium for blood irradiation. In this study computed tomography scans were taken with locally made blood irradiation phantoms other than water, by using air, rice powder and thermocole using parallel beam for 25 Gy.
