Cytopathologists examine microscopic images obtained at various magnifications to identify malignancy in effusions. They locate the malignant cell clusters at a low magnification and then zoom in to investigate cell-level features at a high magnification. This study predicts the malignancy at low magnification levels such as 4X and 10X in effusion cytology images to reduce scanning time.

Sickle cell disease (SCD) is an autosomal recessive genetic condition characterized by the presence of a mutated form of haemoglobin (HbS). HbS polymerises into long needle-like fibres under low oxygen conditions, leading to the erythrocytes forming sickle shaped red blood cells. With repeated sickling, the red blood cells become irreversibly sickled and trapped within the circulation, and this leads to vaso-occlusive crisis.

Introduction: Although vaccines are the safest and most effective means to prevent and control infectious diseases, the increasing rate of vaccine hesitancy and refusal (VHR) has become a worldwide concern. We aimed to find opinions of parents on vaccinating their children and contribute to available literature in order to support the fight against vaccine refusal by investigating the reasons for VHR on a global scale.
Methodology: In this international cross-sectional multicenter study conducted by the Infectious Diseases International Research Initiative (ID-IRI), a questionnaire consisting of 20 questions was used to determine parents' attitudes towards vaccination of their children.

Background: The majority of poststroke individuals tend to exhibit reduced loading over the paretic lower extremity, leading to increased postural sway, and gait asymmetry predisposing to a higher number of falls. Compelled body weight shift (CBWS) therapy is an innovative method aimed to force body weight shift toward the paretic extremity. Proprioceptive training (PT) is another method that improves balance ability contributing to the increase in muscle activity.

Background: There is an increasing COVID-19 population with concurrent STEMI. SARS-CoV-2 poses a significant risk of hypercoagulable and/or prothrombotic events due to the disturbance in hemostasis by affecting all three components of the Virchow's triad. These abnormalities in hemostasis are an increased risk factor for cardiovascular events, including acute thrombotic occlusion of coronary arteries leading to myocardial infarction.

The recent article "Exploring the COVID-19 vaccine candidates against SARS-CoV-2 and its variants: where do we stand and where do we go?" published on December 2 is thought provoking. The authors highlight critical disparities in the manufacture and distribution of COVID-19 vaccines although over 350 COVID-19 vaccine candidates are reported to be in the preclinical and clinical development phase. The history of vaccine research and production in India is as ancient as the history of vaccines themselves.

To improve the process of diagnosis and treatment of cancer disease, automatic segmentation of haematoxylin and eosin (H & E) stained cell nuclei from histopathology images is the first step in digital pathology. The proposed deep structured residual encoder-decoder network (DSREDN) focuses on two aspects: first, it effectively utilized residual connections throughout the network and provides a wide and deep encoder-decoder path, which results to capture relevant context and more localized features. Second, vanished boundary of detected nuclei is addressed by proposing an efficient loss function that better train our proposed model and reduces the false prediction which is undesirable especially in healthcare applications.

Mucopolysaccharidosis (MPS) type II is a rare multisystem disorder resulting from the accumulation of breakdown products of glycosaminoglycans in the body tissues. Many patients with this disease undergo ENT (ear, nose and throat) surgeries such as adenotonsillectomy and tympanocentesis at a very early age, much before the diagnosis of MPS. Nasal polyposis is a rare occurrence, with only one case of MPS II with polyposis reported in the literature.
