Purpose: Leishmania RNA viruses (LRV) are double-stranded RNA viruses (dsRNA viruses) that play a role in the pathogenesis of Leishmania parasites. Cutaneous leishmaniasis (CL) is endemic in various parts of Iran. Our aimed was to investigate presence of LRV among the Leishmania major isolates in four endemic regions of Iran.

Objectives: This study aimed to assess the individual and combined effects of SAE and Met on the expression of genes related to insulin signaling, oxidative stress, hormonal imbalance, insulin resistance, and dyslipidemia in rats with induced PCOS.
Methods: The estrous cycle of 50 adult Wistar female rats was monitored through vaginal smears. Subsequently, the rats were randomly assigned into five groups of 10, including control (receiving 1ml of carboxymethyl cellulose for 49 days), induction (letrozole at 1mg/kg/d for 21 days), SAE, Met, and SAE/Met.

Myocardial infarction (MI) stands at top global causes of death in developed countries, owing mostly to atherosclerotic plaque growth and endothelial injury-induced reduction in coronary blood flow. While early reperfusion techniques have improved outcomes, long-term treatment continues to be difficult. The function of lncRNAs extends to regulating gene expression in various conditions, both physiological and pathological, such as cardiovascular diseases.

Introduction: Earlier studies reported inconsistent findings for the association of childhood obesity with the risk of dental caries. In this systematic review and meta-analysis, we aimed to summarize earlier studies on the association of overweight and obesity with risk of dental caries in children.
Methods: Relevant studies published up to December 2023 were identified through searches in PubMed, MEDLINE, SCOPUS, EMBASE, and Google Scholar, using suitable keywords.
Key Clinical Message: Malignancy may be a possible cause of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) flare-ups, and it is necessary to consider it in the context of treatment resistance. In this case, we present a challenging instance of concomitant nodal marginal zone B-cell lymphoma (NMZL) and SLE flare-up in a 41-year-old male patient.
Abstract: Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic autoimmune disease that can cause various symptoms and affect multiple organs in the body.

Obesity and hypothyroidism are common medical conditions that are associated with each other. Bariatric surgery (BS) is a common approach used to achieve substantial weight loss in obese patients. However, there is limited evidence regarding the need for postsurgery levothyroxine (LT4) dose adjustment in patients with hypothyroidism undergoing BS.

Colon cancer (CC) stands as one of the most common malignancies related to the gastrointestinal system, whose increasing incidence and death rates have been reported all over the world. Standard treatments for fighting cancers like CC comprise surgical approaches, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy, which are suggested by clinicians according to patients' conditions and disease stages. However, patients who utilize these modalities may suffer from serious side effects and adverse outcomes, for example, toxicity and tumor recurrence, as well as a low 5-year survival rate.

Despite the waning of traditional treatments for glioma due to possible long-term issues, the healing possibilities of substances derived from nature have been reignited in the scientific community. These natural substances, commonly found in fruits and vegetables, are considered potential alternatives to pharmaceuticals, as they have been shown in prior research to impact pathways surrounding cancer progression, metastases, invasion, and resistance. This review will explore the supposed molecular mechanisms of different natural components, such as berberine, curcumin, coffee, resveratrol, epigallocatechin-3-gallate, quercetin, tanshinone, silymarin, coumarin, and lycopene, concerning glioma treatment.

Uric acid plays an important role in sustaining and improving sperm morphology, viability, and motility. It is known that SLC2A9 and ABCG2 protein are the main urate transporter and genetic variations in these genes could be associated with the levels of serum uric acid. This study aimed to investigate the association between single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) SLC2A9-rs16890979, SLC2A9-rs3733591, ABCG2-rs2231142, and ABCG2-rs2231137 with male infertility.

The result of infection of bone with microorganisms is osteomyelitis and septic arthritis. Methicillin-resistant (MRSA) is responsible for most of its cases (more than 50%). Since MRSA is resistant to many treatments, it is accompanied by high costs and numerous complications, necessitating more effective new treatments.

Cerebrovascular events are linked to ankylosing spondylitis. Accelerated atherosclerosis and endothelial dysfunction against a backdrop of inflammation have been widely blamed for the increased cerebrovascular risk in ankylosing spondylitis. The absence of a comprehensive review encouraged us to consider the link between ankylosing spondylitis and cerebrovascular diseases.

Introduction: High metastasis, resistance to common treatments, and high mortality rate, has made triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) to be the most invasive type of breast cancer. High telomerase activity and mitochondrial biogenesis are involved in breast cancer tumorigenesis. The catalytic subunit of telomerase, telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT), plays a role in telomere lengthening and extra-biological functions such as gene expression, mitochondria function, and apoptosis.

Drug hypersensitivities are common reactions due to immunologic responses. They are of utmost importance because they may generate severe and fatal outcomes. Some drugs may cause Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs), such as drug hypersensitivity reactions (DHRs), which can occur due to the interaction of intact drugs or their metabolites with Human Leukocyte Antigens (HLAs) and T cell receptors (TCRs).

Background: Turnover intention is considered a significant challenge for healthcare and treatment organizations. The challenging conditions of treating COVID-19 patients and the physical and mental stress imposed on nurses during the pandemic may lead them to leave their jobs. The present study aimed to determine the role of psychological factors (general health, mental workload, work-family conflicts, and resilience) on turnover intention using a Bayesian approach during the COVID-19 pandemic.
