A general and practical approach for -alkylation of heteroaromatic amines with heteroaromatic alcohols is always challenging and rarely reported. Here, we designed and synthesized phosphine-free, robust, and efficient N,N-bidentate-Co(II) complexes for a universal -alkylation of amines strategy. This present catalytic methodology can be applied to a wide range of substrates by varying alcohols, including aryl, aliphatic, acyclic, and cyclic groups, with heteroaromatic amines such as aminopyridine, 2-aminopyrimidine, and aminoquinoline to provide diverse monoalkylated organonitrogen compounds in good to excellent yields (108 examples).

Soil erosion is expected to worsen in the future as a result of climate change, growing population demands, improper land use, and excessive exploitation of natural resources in India. Due to the growing population and changes in land use, it has become increasingly crucial to map and quantitatively assess soil for the purpose of sustainable agricultural usage and planning conservation efforts. The problem of soil erosion is mainly on steeper slopes with intense rainfall in parts of Western Ghats.

Oleaginous yeast can produce lipids while degrading phenol in wastewater treatment. In this study, a Plackett-Burman Design (PBD) was adopted to identify key factors of phenol degradation and lipid production using R toruloides 9564. While temperature, inoculum size, and agitation were significant for both the processes (p < 0.

Oral cancer is a widespread health concern in rural India due to a lack of awareness, delayed diagnosis and limited access to affordable treatment options. The current chemotherapy has notable side effects, underscoring the need for new drug candidates with improved bioavailability and specificity. In this current research, fucoidan, a sulphated polysaccharide, was extracted from the brown algae and shown to be cytotoxic against oral cancer cells (KB cell line) at an IC of 107.

Biological macromolecules like polysaccharides/proteins/glycoproteins have been widely used in the field of tissue engineering due to their ability to mimic the extracellular matrix of tissue. In addition to this, these macromolecules are found to have higher biocompatibility and no/lesser toxicity when compared to synthetic polymers. In recent years, scaffolds made up of proteins, polysaccharides, or glycoproteins have been highly used due to their tensile strength, biodegradability, and flexibility.

Laparoscopic surgery, a minimally invasive technique to treat abdominal conditions, has been shown to produce equivalent safety and efficacy with quicker return to normal function compared to open surgery. As such, it is widely accepted as a cost-effective alternative to open surgery for many abdominal conditions. However, access to laparoscopic surgery in rural North-East India is limited, in part due to limited equipment, unreliable supplies of CO2 gas, lack of surgical expertise and a shortage of anaesthetists.

The expeditious and world pandemic viral disease of new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) has formed a prompt urgency to discover auspicious target-based ligand for the treatment of COVID-19. Symptoms of novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) typically include dry cough, fever, and shortness of breath. Recent studies on many COVID-19 patients in Italy and the United Kingdom found increasing anosmia and ageusia among the COVID-19-infected patients.

Background: Healthcare-associated infections (HAI) are prime health task worldwide and issue of patient safety besides intensifying antimicrobial drug resistance. It is essential to formulate structurally fascinating novel, active and cost-effective anti-microbial drugs possessing a peculiar way of action and capable of overcoming the resistance to effectively combat this disease.
Materials And Methods: The synthesized spiro-heterocyclic hybrids (SHHs) were elucidated through spectroscopic analysis and were assessed for their in vitro antimicrobial activity by agar diffusion method and minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) value was also determined.

G protein-coupled receptor 116 (GPR116), an orphan adhesion receptor, found an important role in cell adhesion and migration in eukaryotes. Abnormal expression of GPCR identified in various cancers turns focus of research community towards GPCR to identify the targeting drug against GPCR. Though GPR116 role was studied in progression of metastasis in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), unfortunately, still no drugs targeting GPR116 were identified.

A new class of benzothiazole-appended quinoline derivatives (-) was synthesized via one-pot TPGS micellar-mediated acid-catalyzed nucleophilic addition, followed by aerobic oxidative cyclization of 3-formylquinoline-2-one (), 3-formylquinoline-2-thione (), and 2-azidoquinoline-3-carbaldehyde () individually with 2-amino thiophenol (). The structures of the prepared compounds were confirmed using suitable spectroscopic methods complemented with single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Time-dependent density functional theory-based optimization of molecular structures, bond lengths, bond angles, HOMO-LUMO energy gaps, and molecular electrostatic potential maps was theoretically computed at the B3LYP/6-311++g(d) level.

A molecular Ni(II)-NNN pincer complex () exhibited unprecedented reversible single-crystal-to-single-crystal transformation and color change upon heating and cooling due to a subtle change in the N-Ni(II) bond length and ligand conformation. UV-vis, thermogravimetric, differential scanning calorimetry, single-crystal structural data, temperature-dependent powder X-ray diffraction, and Raman and computational studies supported the structural change of the Ni(II) complex with temperature.

An expedient synthesis of hitherto unexplored novel hybrid heterocycles comprising dispiropyrrolidine, -styrylpiperidone and indeno[1,2-]quinoxaline units has been developed via domino multicomponent 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition strategy employing a new class of azomethine ylide in ionic liquid, 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide. This domino protocol involves, 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition and concomitant enamine reaction affording the dispiropyrrolidine tethered -styrylpiperidone hybrid heterocycles in moderate to good yield in a single step. These compounds were evaluated for their antimicrobial activity against bacterial and fungal pathogens, therein compounds , , and displayed significant activity against tested microbial pathogens.

Epigenetic characterization studies have clearly shown that the association of genital Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) with cervical cancer is strong, independent of other risk factors, and consistent in several countries. Even though all the strains of Human Papilloma Virus can cause cancer, the high-risk strains can cause severe cancer in a human. The E6 and E7 protein are responsible for the carcinogenic property of HPV.
