Introduction: The purpose of the current study was to examine whether third-trimester persistent maternal hypotension is related to small for gestational age (SGA) and adverse perinatal outcomes.

Methods: In this large retrospective cohort study, 6560 pregnant women were enrolled and divided into two groups according to maternal tension status: a normotensive group (n: 6290) and a persistent maternal hypotensive group (n: 270). Persistent maternal hypotension was defined as an SBP <100 mmHg and/or DBP <60 mmHg at three antenatal visits: visit 1 (260/7-296/7 gestation weeks), visit 2 (300/7-336/7 gestation weeks), and visit 3 (340/7-366/7 gestation weeks).

Background: The Oncotype Dx recurrence score (ODx-RS) guides the adjuvant chemotherapy decision-making process for patients with early-stage hormone receptor-positive, HER-2 receptor-negative breast cancer. This study aimed to evaluate survival and its correlation with ODx-RS in pT1-2, N0-N1mic patients treated with adjuvant therapy based on tumor board decisions.

Patients And Methods: Estrogen-positive HER-2 negative early-stage breast cancer patients (pT1-2 N0, N1mic) with known ODx-RS, operated on between 2010 and 2014, were included in this study.

Recurrence of thrombotic events during aspirin therapy is known as aspirin resistance (AR). This study aimed to investigate the rate of AR, the factors influencing AR in patients with acute ischemic stroke under regular aspirin use, and the relationship between AR and ABCB1 (MDR-1) C3435T (rs1045642) polymorphism. Throughout this multicenter prospective study, 174 patients with acute ischemic stroke who had been prescribed aspirin for at least one month due to the risk of vascular disease, along with 106 healthy volunteers, were included as part of the study group.

Purpose: The aim of this study is to comparatively evaluate the posterior segment ocular parameters of Familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) patients, asymptomatic FMF carriers, and the healthy controls in the pediatric age group.

Methods: The study included 30 FMF patients with homozygous M694V mutation in remission under colchicine therapy, 12 asymptomatic FMF carriers with heterozygous M694V mutation, and 41 age-sex-matched healthy controls. All patients underwent detailed eye examination, and peripapillary retinal nerve fiber layer (pRNFL) thickness, central macular thickness (CMT), subfoveal choroidal thickness (SCT), macular vascular densities, and foveal avascular zone (FAZ) areas were measured using swept-source optical coherence tomography angiography.

Article Synopsis
  • Cefiderocol is effective against carbapenem-resistant bacteria, but its susceptibility varies based on different interpretive criteria from EUCAST and CLSI.
  • Researchers tested 254 CRK blood isolates and found significant differences in resistance rates to cefiderocol when applying EUCAST versus CLSI criteria.
  • High cefiderocol resistance rates were especially noted among NDM producers using EUCAST guidelines, leading to the recommendation that these criteria should be prioritized for testing until more clinical data is available.

High-sensitivity cardiac troponin-T (hs-cTnT) and electrocardiogram (ECG) are commonly ordered in daily practice in emergency medicine but their value on long term mortality in syncope patients is unclear. Our aim is to determine the diagnostic accuracy of hs-cTnT and association of ECG findings for 1-year mortality in patients presenting with syncope. In this retrospective cohort study, we included patients presenting with syncope to the emergency department (ED) between May 2020 and May 2021.
