Thoracic aortic dissection (TAD) is a highly lethal disease occurring inside the aortic wall and is characterized by matrix degradation. Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are members of a large endopeptidase family that function in the degradation of the extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins, the maintenance of the ECM, and the regulation of signaling in the aorta. MMPs are found in tissue with their natural inhibitors.

Background: Diabetes foot infection is a very important public health problem that causes serious health problems, mortality, and high health expenditures, and is one of the most important complications of diabetes mellitus. There are concerns that approaches such as limited personal visits to doctors, avoidance of hospitals, and restrictions on nonemergency surgical procedures during the coronavirus disease of 2019 pandemic pose a threat to those with diabetic foot problems, including diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs), ischemia, and infection, resulting in increased limb loss and mortality.

Methods: This multicenter, retrospective, cross-sectional study was conducted in 14 tertiary care hospitals from various regions of Turkey.

Purpose: The presence of right ventricular dysfunction indicates a higher risk status in patients with pulmonary embolism (PE). The RV strain evaluated by speckle-tracking echocardiography seems to be more reliable method in the evaluation of RV dysfunction as compared to standard echocardiographic measures. In this study, we aimed to determine the value of myocardial-work indices in evaluating serial changes of RV function in acute PE.

Background: Myocardial work (MW) is a novel echocardiographic modality, which has been shown to have diagnostic and prognostic values in patients with cardiovascular diseases, patients with obstructive coronary artery disease, in particular. However, only a handful of studies have examined the MW analysis in ischemia with nonobstructive coronary artery (INOCA) disease. This study, therefore, aimed to detect the early left ventricular involvement in INOCA patients diagnosed by an invasive coronary angiography performing the MW analysis.

Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) is a profoundly destructive condition marked by the gradual narrowing and restructuring of small pulmonary arteries, leading to a rise in pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR), causing right-sided heart failure and, ultimately, mortality. During more advanced stages of this disease, patients may present with rare manifestations of pulmonary artery aneurysm (PAA) which are exertional chest pain, and hoarseness. The left main coronary artery compression (LMCA-Co) has been an increasingly recognized and possibly life-threatening entity in patients with severe PAH.
