Methods: A prospective study of patients with BRCA mutations who underwent minimally invasive risk-reducing bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy was conducted. Patient enrollment occurred between October 2021 and 2023.

Breast cancer cryoablation clinical trials have strict inclusion criteria that exclude patients with potentially treatable disease. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the safety and outcomes of breast cancer cryoablation without surgical excision in patients ineligible for prospective cryoablation clinical trials due to unfavorable patient or tumor characteristics. This retrospective study included women who underwent cryoablation of biopsy-proven unifocal primary breast cancer with locally curative intent, without surgical excision, despite being ineligible for (and thus excluded from) cryoablation clinical trials, across seven institutions between January 1, 2000, and August 26, 2021.

Large signal enhancements can be obtained for NMR analytes using the process of nuclear spin hyperpolarization. Organometallic complexes that bind parahydrogen can themselves become hyperpolarized. Moreover, if parahydrogen and a to-be-hyperpolarized analyte undergo chemical exchange with the organometallic complex it is possible to catalytically sensitize the detection of the analyte via hyperpolarization transfer through spin-spin coupling in this organometallic complex.

Purpose: This study tested the hypothesis that our predominately AA medical center population would demonstrate a decline in HCV-driven HCC diagnosis following the initiation of DAA treatment in 2014. Also evaluated was whether achieving an SVR prior to diagnosis of HCC improved outcomes in patients who had an HCV diagnosis after completion of treatment.
Methods: All patients with HCC seen at the Detroit Medical Center from 2009 to 2021 were identified using ICD-10 codes, and medical records were evaluated.

Cytochrome (Cyt) is important for both mitochondrial respiration and apoptosis, both of which are altered in cancer cells that switch to Warburg metabolism and manage to evade apoptosis. We earlier reported that lysine 53 (K53) of Cyt is acetylated in prostate cancer. Although there have been some advances during in recent decades, the treatment of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) remains challenging. Resistance is a major issue for various treatments that are used, including both the conventional standards of care (radiotherapy and platinum-based chemotherapy) and the newer EGFR and checkpoint inhibitors. In fact, all the non-surgical treatments currently used for HNSCC are associated with intrinsic and/or acquired resistance.

TGFβ is a pleiotropic signaling pathway that plays a pivotal role in regulating a multitude of cellular functions. TGFβ has a dual role in cell regulation where it induces growth inhibition and cell death; however, it can switch to a growth-promoting state under cancerous conditions. Introduction: Guanine nucleotide exchange factors (GEFs) regulate the activation of small GTPases (G proteins) of the Ras superfamily proteins controlling cellular functions.
