New conjugated 2,6-diphenylaniline-azulene co-oligomers of linear and branched structure were synthesized by the interaction of borylazulenes with diphenylaniline bromides under Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling conditions. The obtained diphenylaniline-azulene co-oligomers intensively absorb and emit visible light (410-700 nm region); in particular, they exhibit strong emissions in the green, as well as orange, range, with maxima of 510/590 nm. It is shown that such properties appear as a result of the positive resonance exposure to aniline fragments significantly rearranging the electronic structure of azulene, in particular, the levels and energy gaps of frontal HOMO-LUMO orbitals.

The influence of a heavy atom and the plasmon field on the efficiency of populating the lowest triplet state (T) and on the phosphorescence intensity has been studied for fluorescein, 2Br-fluorescein, eosin and erythrosine, which have an increasing number of substituted heavy atoms. We show that the heavy atoms affect not only the rate constant of intersystem crossing () but also the rate constant of internal conversion (). The calculations show that the C-H bonds in the position are the primary acceptors of the excitation energy of the lowest excited electronic singlet state (S).

Despite the large number of works on the synthesis of polylactide-co-glycolide (PLGA) nanoparticles (NP) loaded with antituberculosis drugs, the data on the influence of various factors on the final characteristics of the complexes are quite contradictory. In the present study, a comprehensive analysis of the effect of multiple factors, including the molecular weight of PLGA, on the size and stability of nanoparticles, as well as the loading efficiency and release of the antituberculosis drug rifampicin (RIF), was carried out. The data on the synthesis of N-aminomorpholine hydrazones are presented. It is shown that the interaction of N-aminomorpholine with functionally substituted benzaldehydes and 4-pyridinaldehyde in isopropyl alcohol leads to the formation of corresponding hydrazones. The structure of the synthesized compounds was studied by H and C NMR spectroscopy methods, including the COSY (H-H), HMQC (H-C) and HMBC (H-C) methodologies.

In this work, through the Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reaction with high yields, new π-conjugated azulene compounds containing diphenylaniline groups at positions 2 and 6 of azulene were synthesized. The obtained diphenylaniline-azulenes have intensely visible-light absorbing and emitting (in the wavelength range from 400 to 600 nm) properties. It has been shown that such unique optical properties, in particular fluorescent emission in the region of blue and green photoluminescence (λem at 495 and 525 nm), which were absent in the original azulene, are the result of the electron donor effect of diphenylaniline groups, which significantly changes the electronic structure of azulene and leads to the allowed HOMO → LUMO electron transition.

Alkaloid-based urea derivatives were produced with high yield through the reaction of anabasine and cytisine with isoxazolylphenylcarbamates in boiling benzene. Their antitumor activity, in combination with the commonly used five anticancer drugs, namely cyclophosphane, fluorouracil, etoposide, cisplatin, ribomustine with different mechanisms of action, was investigated. Based on the quantum chemical calculations data and molecular docking, hypotheses have been put forward to explain their mutual influence when affecting C6 rat glioma model cells.

The interaction results of 1,2-dibromo-3-isothiocyanatopropane with some pyrazoles as well as cytisine and salsoline alkaloids were presented in this paper. It was shown that the reaction resulted in one one-step and rather mild method for the preparation of the corresponding 1,3-thiazoline bromomethyl derivatives. The yield of this reaction was affected by the presence of a base and an order in which reagents were added.
