Background: Acromiohumeral interval (AHI) reversibility is used to evaluate whether superior humeral migration is fixed or flexible in patients with massive rotator cuff tears (MRCTs). AHI reversibility is measured as the difference in the AHI observed between standard and stress radiography. However, factors affecting AHI reversibility have not been studied in the existing literature.

Stress responses in real-world settings are less studied compared to controlled laboratory environments, limiting our understanding of their impact on cognitive performance. This study investigates the relationship between physiological stress signals and academic performance using an open-access dataset of 10 students assessed across three exam sessions (Midterm 1, Midterm 2, and Final Exam). Physiological measures, including electrodermal activity (EDA), heart rate (HR), and skin surface temperature (TEMP), along with exam grades, were analyzed using traditional hypothesis testing, bootstrap method, correlation analysis, and regression tree modeling.

Background: In the 21st century, disasters (particularly earthquakes, which remain the leading cause of death) continue to be among the foremost issues requiring global emergency response. While the impact of advancing technologies on the environmental and human damage caused by earthquakes is still a subject of debate, search and rescue (SAR) teams and emergency departments (ED), specifically emergency physicians (EPs), play a crucial role in the most acute management of the effects of these earthquakes on human life. This study aims to examine the injury dynamics of two catastrophic earthquakes that occurred in Turkey 24 years apart from the perspective of EPs, utilizing archival records from the SAR teams in which EPs served.

Electric heaters are widely used owing to their portability, fast heating, single-focus heating, and energy efficiency advantages. Manufacturers provide customers with information on the power consumption and energy efficiency classes of heaters but do not provide any information on heating patterns. Knowing the heating pattern enables users to select the correct heater, which has a significant effect on comfort, health, energy efficiency, industrial process performance, plant growth, and climate change.

This study addresses the thermal management challenge in battery systems by enhancing phase change material composites with Ni-P and Ni-P-Cu coatings on phase change material/expanded graphite structures. Traditional phase change materials are limited by low thermal conductivity and mechanical stability, which restricts their effectiveness in high-demand applications. Unlike previous studies, this work integrates Ni-P and Ni-P-Cu coatings to significantly improve both the thermal conductivity and mechanical strength of phase change material/expanded graphite composites, filling a crucial gap in battery thermal management solutions.

The introduction of 3D printing technology has broadened manufacturing possibilities, allowing the production of complex cellular geometries, including auxetic and curved plane structures, beyond the standard honeycomb patterns in sandwich composite materials. In this study, the effects of cell design parameters, such as cell geometry (honeycomb and auxetic) and cell size (cell thickness and width), are examined on acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) core materials produced using fusion deposition modeling (FDM). They are produced as a result of the epoxy bonding of carbon epoxy prepreg composite materials to the surfaces of core materials.

Objectives: Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), which is used in cases of life-threatening cardiopulmonary arrest, is a physically exhausting procedure. Adding to that, sometimes, even before performing CPR, interventions to rescue the injured person from a challenging environment have caused significant fatigue. In this study, taking a novel research approach, we generated a scenario of fatigue during a rescue from earthquake debris and aimed to measure the effect of that fatigue on the quality of CPR performed by paramedics.

The objective of this study is to develop chromium-reinforced metal-metal composites utilizing an AA5083 aluminum alloy matrix through powder metallurgy while also examining their properties. Samples were produced by incorporating varying quantities of chromium (5%, 10%, and 15% by weight) into the AA5083 matrix. In order to ensure a uniform distribution of chromium particles, the powders were blended in a ball mill and subsequently hot-pressed at 500 °C under 500 MPa for a period of two hours in an argon atmosphere.

Introduction: Structural and functional cardiac defects leading to inadequate tissue oxygenation is known as Heart failure (HF) which is characterized by extensive morbidity and mortality. Pathophysiology of HF involves systolic and diastolic dysfunction, neurohormonal dysregulation, and imbalance in inflammatory mediators which complicates treatment further. Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) is an approach used for restoring ventricular synchrony and enhancing mechanical efficiency.
