A Comprehensive Experimental Emulation for OTFS Waveform RF-Impairments.

The orthogonal time-frequency space (OTFS) waveform exceeds the challenges that face orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) in a high-mobility environment with high time-frequency dispersive channels. Since radio frequency (RF) impairments have a direct impact on waveform behavior, this paper investigates the experimental implementation of RF-impairments that affect OTFS waveform performance and compares them to the OFDM waveform as a benchmark. Firstly, the doubly-dispersive channel effect is analyzed, and then an experimental framework is established for investigating the impact of RF-impairments, including non-linearity, carrier frequency offset (CFO), I/Q imbalances, DC-offset, and phase noise are considered.

Comparison of the effect of general anesthesia and spinal anesthesia technique combined with general anesthesia on intraabdominal volume during gynecological laparoscopy.

Purpose: We aimed to investigate the effect of spinal anesthesia which will be performed simultaneously with general anesthesia on the site of operation with the same pressure.

Material And Method: This study was conducted as a randomized, prospective clinical study on 40 patients who were randomly divided into two groups. Twenty women underwent general anesthesia (Group GA) and 20 women underwent spinal anesthesia with general anesthesia (Group SGA).

This study aimed to compare the achievements of the students who attended the Environmental Design Project course at Karadeniz Technical University (KTU) in various years with the face-to-face (FE) and distance (OE) education methods. Ethical Evaluation Capacity of Turkish Food and Agricultural Engineers and Veterinary Physicians with Regard to Agriculture and Food System.

In Turkey, the numbers of studies that deal with agriculture and food as a system and process, and that address the issue with an integrated approach are very limited. Besides, there is no empirical study available in the national literature in which agricultural and food system has been analyzed within the framework of applied ethics. The present study aims to investigate the characteristics of food and agricultural engineers and veterinary physicians in terms of their tendency to carry out ethical evaluations when faced with issues falling under the field of agriculture and food ethics, and detect their capacity to identify ethical problems.

Value of tomography in detecting breast masses and discriminating malign and benign lesions.

Objectives: The main purpose of the present study was to determine the effectivity of computerized tomography (CT) in detecting breast masses and discriminating masses as malignant or benign.

Material And Methods: After having received the institutional local ethics committee approval, an experienced radiologist who did not participate in the study created a patient pool by searching our health center's Pathology department database between 2010 and 2018. The group created consisted of dense and non-dense breast types equally and included approximately similar percentages of benign and malignant breast mass sizes.

Development of a medical error scale for nurses in Turkey.

Background: Medical errors can have an adverse effect on patients, health care providers and health care organizations. Determining the likelihood of such errors is important to implement appropriate and effective solutions to minimize errors.

Quick Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (qSOFA) score has been proposed for the prediction of fatal outcomes in sepsis syndrome in emergency departments. Due to the low predictive performance of the qSOFA score, we propose a modification to the score by adding age.

Asymmetric dimethylarginine levels and diabetes duration: Relationship with measures of subclinical atherosclerosis and cardiac function in children and adolescents with Type 1 diabetes.

Aims: We aimed to evaluate asymmetric dimethylarginine levels in young patients with Type 1 diabetes mellitus according to diabetes duration and to examine the relationship between these levels and measures of atherosclerosis and myocardial function.

Materials And Methods: In total, 83 patients (8.5-22 years) with Type 1 diabetes mellitus were stratified by diabetes duration: 12-60 months (Group 1, n = 27), >60-120 months (Group 2, n = 29) and >120 months (Group 3, n = 27).

Mechanical removal of a refluxed Onyx piece from the middle cerebral artery using the Solitaire Stent: Technical report.

Onyx reflux into the parent artery is a rare and sometimes significant complication in the treatment of cerebral arteriovenous malformations (AVMs). We report a patient who presented with Onyx reflux into the M1 segment of the middle cerebral artery (MCA) during embolization of a right temporal AVM. The refluxed Onyx cast was successfully removed by a mechanical thrombectomy device using a self-expandable and fully retrievable Solitaire AB stent.

[Morphological and Ultrastructural Features in the Characterization of Microsporidia].

The members of the Microsporidia are single-celled, eukaryotic, obligate intracellular parasites. They infect a wide range of invertebrate and vertebrate hosts. The studies on Microsporidia are of considerable interest because of that they cause desirable and undesirable infections in different animals.

[Presence of Nosemosis in Honeybees (Apis mellifera) in Ordu Province].

Objective: The aim of this study is to study occurrence of nosemosis in honey bees in Ordu Province and compare disease factors morphologicaly.

Methods: Totally 200 adult bees were collected from ten localities in Ordu Province and examined for nosemosis. Spores of the disease factors were measured and photographed using an Olympus BX51 microscope with a DP-25 digital camera and a DP2-BSW Soft Imaging System.

Dental trauma sometimes causes fractures in the maxillary anterior teeth leading to esthetic, functional and phonetic problems. In this report, we describe the treatment of central and lateral incisors simultaneously subgingivally fractured due to dental trauma. Treatment involved flap surgery, reattachment and splinting of the fractured fragments with glass-fibre and composite resin.

[Comparison of COBAS AmpliPrep/COBAS TaqMan 48 and VERSANT HCV-RNA 3.0 systems for the determination of hepatitis C virus load].

The aim of this study was to investigate the concordance between COBAS Taqman 48 (Roche Molecular Systems, Pleasanton, CA, USA) and VERSANT HCV RNA 3.0 (Bayer Diagnostics, Terrytown, NY) test systems for the detection of hepatitis C virus (HCV) load. Plasma samples taken from 42 patients with chronic HCV infection between 15 May-15 June 2006, were included to the study, and HCV-RNA levels have been searched with the use of the two above mentioned systems.

[A case of Brucella prostatitis misdiagnosed as prostate carcinoma].

Brucellosis is a major public health problem in Turkey and all over the world.
