Long-term evaluation of neurological outcomes in chemotherapy-associated posterior reversible encephalopathy (PRES) syndrome in children.

Background: Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) is a clinical syndrome with numerous etiologies, mostly characterized by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) abnormalities in the posterior cerebral white and gray matter and acute neurological symptoms.

Aim: To examine the predisposing factors, clinical results, and radiological features of PRES in children diagnosed with malignancy.

Materials And Methods: The study included 20 patients (7 F/13 M) aged 4-16 years at the time of diagnosis who were diagnosed with malignancy and developed PRES during chemotherapy.

Background: Malnutrition in pediatric oncology patients is a serious clinical condition. There is a need for standardized nutrition screening in pediatric oncology patients, as nutrition screening can offer a simple method to identify children with cancer at risk of malnutrition. This study aimed to determine the validity of a Turkish version of nutrition screening tool for childhood cancer (SCAN) in identifying the risk of malnutrition among children with cancer.

Unveiling New Clinical and Genetic Insights in Ultra-Rare Intellectual Disability Phenotypes: A Study of a Turkish Cohort.

Intellectual disability (ID) is defined as a severe impairment in reasoning, learning, and problem-solving abilities along with adaptive behavior that occurs before the age of 18 years. The present study aimed to present the clinical and genetic data of a cohort of Turkish pediatric patients diagnosed with the ultrarare (which only up to 20 cases having been reported in the relevant literature thus far) ID phenotype. A total of 29 patients from 26 different families, who were diagnosed with ultrarare ID upon whole exome sequencing (WES) analysis, were included in the study.

The genus Haritalodes Warren, 1890 is represented by 12 species worldwide except in the Nearctic and Neotropical regions. Haritalodes derogata (Fabricius, 1775), commonly known as the cotton leaf roller moth, is the most widely distributed species of the genus and is common in the West Palaearctic Region. This species is one of the most serious pests of Malvaceae.
