Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a common psychiatric condition among children and adolescents, often associated with a high risk of psychiatric comorbidities. Currently, ADHD diagnosis relies exclusively on clinical presentation and patient history, underscoring the need for clinically relevant, reliable, and objective biomarkers. Such biomarkers may enable earlier diagnosis and lead to improved treatment outcomes.

Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) carries a poor prognosis at advanced stages underscoring the need to elucidate the underlying molecular mechanisms driving its pathogenesis. This study aimed to investigate the roles of eukaryotic translation initiation factor 3 subunit M () and its associated effector, serum amyloid A-like 1 (), in LUAD development and progression. Bioinformatic analyses such as TNMplot, The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO), and other public databases were used to evaluate and expression levels, methylation status, clinical associations, and potential transcriptional regulators across LUAD datasets.

Thyroid cancer (TC) is one of the most prevalent endocrine malignancy with a steadily increasing incidence globally. Although standard treatments like thyroidectomy and radioiodine therapy effectively manage most cases of differentiated thyroid cancers (DTC), certain recurrent cases or those involving poorly differentiated thyroid cancers (PDTC) demand more specialized interventions. Follicular thyroid cancer (FTC) is the second most common type of DTC, and frequently metastasizes through the bloodstream to distant sites such as bones and lungs which is a leading cause of metastatic and recurrent DTC and significantly affects survival.

Background And Aims: Small-for-gestational-age (SGA) newborns have a higher risk of morbidity and mortality. Recognizing the risk factors for SGA helps raise early awareness of the issue and provides valuable insights for both healthcare providers and pregnant women. We aimed to identify determinants of SGA using population-based databases in Taiwan.

Thyroid cancer (TC) stands out as the most prevalent endocrine malignancy globally, with a steadily increasing incidence. Its clinical manifestations include enlarged thyroid nodules, dysphagia, enophthalmos, and various other symptoms. While standard treatments such as thyroidectomy and radioiodine therapy effectively manage most cases of differentiated thyroid cancers (DTC), some recurrent cases of DTC or those involving poorly differentiated thyroid cancers (PDTC) require specialized interventions.

Background: Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is a frequently occurring type of head and neck cancer with a high mortality and morbidity rate. Rhopaloic acid A (RA), a terpenoid derived from sponges, has demonstrated a promising anti-tumor activity, but its effectiveness for treating OSCC remains unknown.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate whether RA inhibits the growth of OSCC.

Early detection of cancer recurrence using specific biomarkers remains a clinically unmet need, although methodologies for monitoring tumor markers, cell-free DNA, and circulating tumor cells have been established for decades. Tumor recurrence develops in metastatic or dormant cancer cells under continuous immune surveillance. Alterations in the population and function of immune cells may contribute to cancer recurrence.

Method: We obtained electronic medical records from a medical center in Southern Taiwan between January 2015 and September 2021. Participants aged ≥60 who were newly diagnosed with AD and had been prescribed AChEIs were included.
Incomplete combustion yields a significant byproduct, known for its high toxicity to humans: gas phase carbon monoxide (CO). This study utilized several advanced theoretical methods to examine the factors contributing to the activation energy involved in CO capture by a frustrated Lewis pair (FLP) and to forecast the potential success of the CO capture reaction. The current theoretical findings indicate that among the four-membered-ring Group-13/N-FLP and B/Group-15-FLP molecules, only the B/N-based FLP-type molecule effectively captures CO, considering both thermodynamics and kinetics.

Patients who undergo primary tumor resection (PTR) reportedly have significantly higher overall survival (OS) than those who do not undergo this procedure. However, this result is only evident in past retrospective studies, and clinical trial results did not show the same trend. Thus, it remains unclear whether primary tumor resection effectively increases survival in patients with metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) across different study designs.

The chemical screening of an octocoral identifed as has led to the isolation of five chlorinated briarane-type diterpenoids, including three known metabolites, gemmacolide X (1), frajunolide I (2), and fragilide F (3), along with two new analogs, 12α-acetoxyfragilide F (4) and 12α-acetoxyjunceellin (5). Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis was carried out to determine the absolute configurations of 1 and 2, while the structures of new compounds 4 and 5 were ascertained with 2D NMR experiments. Briaranes 1 and 3-5 were active in enhancing alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity.

Lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC) remains a difficult-to-treat disease with a poor prognosis. While prominin-1 () is largely investigated in a variety of malignancies, the role of prominin-2 (), the other member of the prominin family, has not been studied in LUSC. Transcriptomic data derived from matched tumor and adjacent non-tumorous lung tissues of LUSC patients were employed to conduct an in-depth analysis of the genetic and epigenetic regulation of prominin genes within LUSC, utilizing bioinformatic approaches.

Perineural invasion and neurogenesis are frequently observed in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) and link to poor outcome. However, how neural factors affect PDAC prognosis and the underlying mechanism as well as counteracting therapeutic are still unclear. systematic analysis was performed with PROGgene to identify potential neural factor and its receptor in pancreatic cancer.

The poor outcome of patients with lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) highlights the importance to identify novel effective prognostic markers and therapeutic targets. Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) have generally been considered to serve important roles in tumorigenesis and the development of various types of cancer, including LUAD. Here, we aimed to investigate the role of in LUAD and to explore its potential mechanisms by performing comprehensive bioinformatic analyses.

One-carbon metabolism plays a crucial role in tumorigenesis as it supplies the one-carbon units necessary for nucleotide synthesis, epigenetic regulation, and redox metabolism, ensuring the rapid proliferation of cancer cells. However, their roles in prostate cancer progression remain poorly understood. In this study, we investigated the association between genetic variants in the one-carbon metabolism pathway and clinical outcomes in patients receiving androgen deprivation therapy for prostate cancer.

Objective: Ribonuclease P RNA component H1 (RPPH1) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) associated with cancer progression. Higher RPPH1 expression in breast and cervical cancer samples than that in normal tissues were observed through the lncRNASNP2 database; therefore, silencing RPPH1 expression might be a potential strategy for cancer treatments, even though RPPH1 is also an RNA subunit of ribonuclease P involved in processing transfer RNA (tRNA) precursors and the effect of RPPH1 knockdown is not yet fully understood.
Methods: Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified through RNA sequencing in each shRNA-transfected RPPH1 knockdown MDA-MB-231, RPPH1 knockdown HeLa cell, and respective control cells, then the gene ontology enrichment analysis was performed by IPA and MetaCore database according to these DEGs, with further experiments validating the effect of RPPH1 silencing in MDA-MB-231 and HeLa cells.

In early-stage colorectal cancer (CRC), AQP8, GUCA2B, and SPIB were important suppressor genes and frequently co-expressed. However, the underlying co-regulation effect remains unknown and need to be elucidated. We aimed to investigate the co-regulatory network of AQP8, GUCA2B, and SPIB in CRC using in vitro and in silico methods.
