Background: Malignancy in pilonidal sinus disease (PSD) is rare, with squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) being the most common type. This study aims to assess the incidence of malignancy in PSD and identify risk factors to guide more targeted pathological examination strategies.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 1505 patients who underwent surgical excision of PSD between January 1, 2014, and December 31, 2023.

Aim: This study aims to reveal the characteristics of individuals who have lost an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) diagnosis and to evaluate their current psychiatric diagnoses. Additionally, the study aims to compare individuals who have lost ASD with typically developing (TD) individuals and those with ASD in terms of current psychopathology, functionality and sociodemographic and clinical variables.
Methods: The study included a total of 85 participants aged between 5 and 18, comprising 30 individuals who no longer meet the criteria for ASD (loss of autism diagnosis or LAD), 32 individuals with ASD and 23 TD individuals.

We evaluated clinical parameters distinguishing cognitive disengagement syndrome (CDS) and childhood absence epilepsy (CAE). 40 children with CDS, 27 with CAE, and 41 controls aged 7-12 were compared regarding sleep problems, CDS, and ADHD symptoms. CDS-sluggishness symptoms, but not CDS-daydreaming symptoms, were significantly higher in CDS group than CAE group.

Extremity muscle hernias are rare pathologies, most of which are managed conservatively. In symptomatic cases, surgical intervention may be required. This study represents a case of a rarer muscle hernia, semimembranosus, in a 43-year-old patient and describes the surgical technique of grafting with synthetic nonabsorbable polypropylene surgical mesh as well as the review of the literature about extremity muscle hernias.

Objective: This study aimed to investigate the relationship and prognostic significance of cardio-ankle vascular index, which is a measure of arterial stiffness that can lead to endothelial dysfunction and poor cardiovascular issues in COVID-19 patients, with COVID-19.
Methods: The study included 115 patients, of which 65 patients in the case group with Real time reversetranscription-polymerasechainreaction test positive and diagnosed for COVID-19 and 50 volunteers in the control group. Patients with COVID-19 were classified as moderate/severe or mild COVID-19 in the subgroup analysis based on the severity of the disease.

In recent studies, it was shown that there is a strong relationship between structural and functional gastrointestinal disorders and joint hypermobility.

The present study aimed to investigate the potential use of T2-weighted sequences with diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) in magnetic resonance (MR) enterography instead of conventional contrast-enhanced MR imaging (MRI) sequences for the evaluation of active inflammation in Crohn disease.Two-hundred thirteen intestinal segments of 43 patients, who underwent colonoscopy within 2 weeks before or after MR enterography were evaluated in this retrospective study. DWI sequences, T2-weighted sequences, and contrast-enhanced T1-weighted sequences were acquired in the MR enterography scan after cleaning of the bowel and using an oral contrast agent.
