Background: It is unclear how accurately students can reproduce specific forces that are often required for physical examination maneuvers. This study aimed to determine the baseline accuracy of force application for preclinical medical students, evaluate the effectiveness of a quantitative visual feedback intervention, and investigate whether certain demographics influence accuracy.
Materials And Methods: First- and second-year medical students were enrolled and demographic data were collected.

The anterolateral ligament (ALL) is considered a secondary stabilizer of internal rotation and, due to proximity to the lateral collateral ligament (LCL), it may contribute to anterolateral rotatory stability. This study characterized the anatomy of the ALL and associated tissues of the anterolateral complex (ALC) to determine if structural and histological compensatory adaptations exist in patients without an ALL. Forty-nine cadaveric knees were dissected from distal-to-proximal using established landmarks with the aid of internal rotation stress to localize the ALL (if present), LCL, iliotibial band (ITB), and anterolateral capsule.

Due to the rapid evolution of generative artificial intelligence (AI) and its implications on patient education, there is a pressing need to evaluate AI responses to patients' medical questions. This study assessed the quality and usability of responses received from two prominent AI platforms to common patient-centric hand and wrist surgery questions. Twelve commonly encountered hand and wrist surgery patient questions were inputted twice into both Gemini and ChatGPT, generating 48 responses.

The sacroiliac joint (SIJ) is the largest diarthrodial joint in the human body and accounts for approximately 20% of all low back pain, which is commonly seen in patients with lumbosacral fusions. Despite this, SIJ dysfunction often poses a challenging diagnosis depending on clinical evaluation, imaging, and image-guided joint injection. SIJ fusion is an effective and safe method of treatment, with minimally invasive approaches fitting well within the armamentarium of interventional radiologists treating chronic pain and other musculoskeletal conditions.

Background: To optimize patients' functional external rotation outcomes, reverse total shoulder arthroplasties (rTSAs) including a latissimus dorsi tendon transfer were undertaken with promising early results and no significant increase in complications in comparison to traditional rTSAs. This was especially utilized for patients with a pronounced combined loss of elevation and external rotation. The purpose of this study is to evaluate and synthesize the findings of all relevant publications assessing the outcomes of rTSAs with associated latissimus dorsi transfer.

Context: Patients with spinal cord injury (SCI) secondary to traumatic sports-related etiology potentially face loss of independence. The Functional Independence Measure (FIM) assesses the amount of assistance patients require and has shown sensitivity to changes in patient functional status post injury.
Objectives: We aimed to (1) examine long-term outcomes following sports-related SCI (SRSCI) using FIM scoring at the time of injury, one year, and five years post-injury, and (2) determine predictors of independence at one and five-year follow-up considering surgical and non-surgical management.

Background: Situs inversus totalis (SIT) is a rare genetic anomaly involving the mirror-image transposition of organs. This transposition can potentially make surgical treatments difficult because of the reversed anatomy and intraoperative confusion. The aim of this systematic review is to compare the perioperative outcomes and safety of robotic and laparoscopic gastrectomy in patients with SIT.

Objective: This study aims to evaluate the rate of improvement in neurologic recovery of patients with sports-related spinal cord injury (SRSCI) who had surgical intervention (SS) and those who did not (NSS). We aimed to 1) evaluate the rate of American Spinal Injury Association (ASIA) conversion in patients with and without surgery, and 2) assess predictors of conversion in ASIA grade.
Methods: The National Spinal Cord Injury Model Systems Database (SCIMS) was used from 1973 to 2016.

Objectives: Classic treatment for syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone (SIADH) is fluid restriction. However, this is not ideal for infants who need large fluid volumes to ensure adequate caloric intake for growth. The use of urea has not been thoroughly studied in children.

Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Rush University Medical Center, Chicago, Illinois.
Background: Poor sleep quality is associated with metabolic dysregulation and impaired healing. The purpose of the current study was to quantify the prevalence of poor sleep in patients with atraumatic foot and ankle (F&A) conditions and determine whether surgical treatment is associated with sleep quality improvement.
Methods: Patients scheduled for surgical management of atraumatic F&A conditions were enrolled by 4 fellowship-trained orthopaedic F&A surgeons between May 2018 and April 2019.
