Background: Although the primary treatment for malignant phyllodes tumor (PT) is complete surgical excision with either breast-conserving surgery or total mastectomy, recent technical advances have led to the adoption of nipple-sparing mastectomy (NSM) with immediate breast reconstruction (IBR).
Case Presentation: A 28-year-old woman noticed a mass in her left breast that was rapidly increasing in size. She underwent tumor excision and a histological diagnosis of marked degenerative and necrotic induration suggested benign PT.

There are many reports that pharmacotherapy has been optimized to ensure collaboration between physicians and pharmacists. Various scales assess the relationship between physicians and pharmacists as well as medical students and pharmacy students. The Scale of Attitudes Toward Physician-Pharmacist Collaboration (SATPC) can be applied not only to the physician-pharmacist relationship but also to the medical-pharmacy student relationship.

In breast cancer surgery, there has been a major shift toward less invasive local treatment. Although axillary lymph node dissection (ALND) was an integral part of surgical treatment for breast cancer, sentinel lymph node (SLN) biopsy was developed as an accurate method for axillary staging. ALND can be avoided not only in patients with negative SLNs but also in those with one or two positive SLNs receiving breast and/or axillary radiation.

Severe post-transplant hypoxemia, which is defined as <50 mm Hg of the partial pressure of oxygen in arterial blood/fraction of inspired oxygen (P/F) ratio, is a major post-operative complication with high mortality rates in patients with hepatopulmonary syndrome (HPS). Non-invasive positive pressure ventilation therapy and mechanical ventilation are options for respiratory support of patients with severe post-transplant hypoxemia. However, these therapies are associated with several problems, such as compliance, ventilator-associated pneumonia, and lung injury.

Introduction: Familial hypercholesterolaemia (FH) is an autosomal-dominant inherited genetic disease. It carries an extremely high cardiovascular risk associated with significantly elevated low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol. The diagnostic rate of this disease in some European nations is quite high, due to the presence of multiple prospective registries.

Axillary lymph node dissection (ALND) can be avoided not only in patients with negative sentinel lymph nodes (SLNs) but also in those with one or two positive SLNs receiving breast or axillary radiation. However, ALND has remained the standard treatment for patients with clinically positive nodes (cN+). Although axillary reverse mapping (ARM) was developed to map and preserve arm lymphatic drainage during ALND, it could not be indicated for cN + patients because metastatic rate of ARM nodes is high.

Peri-implant infection is a serious complication in surgical procedures involving implants. We conducted an in vitro study to determine whether the use of a fluorinated diamond-like carbon (F-DLC) coating on a titanium alloy surface can prevent peri-implant infection. After applying the F-DLC, we evaluated its antibacterial and cytotoxic properties.

Hepatoblastoma (HB) is the leading primary hepatic malignancy in children and likely emerges due to failure of hepatic progenitor cells to properly differentiate. The peroxiredoxin (PRDX) family is frequently linked to cancer. In our previous study, we demonstrated that expression of the only secreted family member, PRDX4, was correlated with hepatocellular carcinoma.

A 60-year-old male presented with a history of a relatively hard and cystic right chest mass that had gradually increased in size, with subsequent skin erosion, exudate and hemorrhage. The cytologic specimens from a cyst fluid contained a large number of sheet-like or papillary clusters of atypical cuboidal to columnar epithelial cells with loss of myoepithelial components, in a severely inflammatory background with scattered siderophages. We first interpreted it as a carcinoma, but could not completely exclude out the possibilities of benign.

Cancer gene panel testing requires accurate detection of somatic mosaic mutations, as the test sample consists of a mixture of cancer cells and normal cells; each minor clone in the tumor also has different somatic mutations. Several studies have shown that the different types of software used for variant calling for next generation sequencing (NGS) can detect low-frequency somatic mutations. However, the accuracy of these somatic variant callers is unknown.
