Materials And Methods: A total of 327 male subjects were enrolled for this study, divided into two groups consisting of 200 patients, who were consecutively admitted for IHD in the intensive cardiac care unit (ICCU) of a Government Hospital and 127 age matched male healthy subjects.

Two-stage surgical management of multilevel symptomatic thoracic haemangioma using ethanol and iliac crest bone graft.

This article presents a 56-year-old obese female who presented with back pain and progressive weakness in her lower limbs for three months. She was bed-ridden for one week before reporting to our hospital. Plain radiographs showed vertical striations in multiple vertebrae classical of haemangioma.

Tetracycline-induced discoloration of deciduous teeth: case series.

Tetracycline was the choice of antibiotic in some of the life-threatening bacterial infections. Due to its adverse effects and ability to cross-placental barrier, its use is contraindicated in pregnancy and in children. This is a case series of four patients with tetracycline-induced discoloration in primary teeth.

Assessment of menopausal symptoms among women attending various outreach clinics in South Canara District of India.

Introduction: Menopausal symptoms experienced by women are known to affect their quality-of-life. The symptoms experienced at menopause are quite variable and their etiology is found to be multifactorial. This study was hence done to assess the pattern and severity of menopausal symptoms and to find out the factors associated with these symptoms.

A rare case of chronic ectopic pregnancy presenting as large hematosalpinx.

Ectopic pregnancy is defined as implantation and subsequent development of an embryo outside the uterine lining. It has wide range of presentation from acute hemoperitoneum to chronic ectopic pregnancy. This is an unusual case of chronic ectopic pregnancy with large hematosalpinx without classical symptoms.

Importance of Serum Copper and Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF-A) Levels in Postmenopausal Bleeding.

The main aim of this study is association of serum copper and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF-A) in postmenopausal bleeding (PMB) patients. Blood samples were collected from female patients suffering with postmenopausal bleeding (n = 50) as well as healthy females as controls (n = 50). Serum copper levels were estimated by spectrophotometric method and serum VEGF-A by ELISA technique and compared with ultrasonographic measurement of endometrial thickness in both patients and controls.

Tympanoplasty is one of the ever evolving surgical procedures mainly aimed at restoring the hearing loss and eradication of middle ear disease. We have made an attempt to assess the hearing improvement of various types and techniques of tympanoplasty. A prospective observational study was done on 50 cases of CSOM, of which 45 cases were tubotympanic type, and 5 cases were attico-antral.

Background: Despite high ferritin level, HDCKD patients may have functional iron deficiency even after intravenous iron (iv) therapy. The aim of this study was to test the hypothesis that lowered serum transferrin level may contribute to functional anemia and erythropoietin hypo responsiveness by the failure to transport accumulated tissue iron to the relevant target tissue.

Trichilemmal cyst, also known as "pilar cyst," is a benign cyst containing keratin and its breakdown products with a wall resembling external root sheath of hair. It occurs mostly in females as a solitary firm nodule over scalp. Occurrence of multiple trichilemmal cysts in areas other than scalp is extremely rare.

Chronic bullous disease of childhood with IgG predominance: what is the locus standi?

Linear IgA disease (LAD) is an acquired, autoimmune, subepidermal, blistering disease, characterized by linear deposition of IgA along the dermoepidermal junction on immunofluorescence. Some cases known as 'mixed immunobullous disease' show weak staining with other immune reactants like IgG, IgM or C3. We report a rare case of a child having typical manifestations of LAD (chronic bullous disease of childhood), but with IgG predominance rather than IgA.

Human intestinal capillariasis: a rare case report from non-endemic area (Andhra Pradesh, India).

Human intestinal capillariasis is caused by Capillaria philippinensis. This disease is endemic in Philippines and Thailand. To the best of our knowledge, we report the third case of human intestinal capillariasis from India and the first case from Andhra Pradesh, which is a non-endemic area.
