Context: Pulpotomy is a procedure in which part of an exposed vital pulp is removed, usually as a means of preserving the vitality and function of the remaining part.

Aim: The aim is to compare the effectiveness of Dycal (CH), EndoSequence, and Titanium-prepared platelet-rich fibrin with EndoSequence (T-PRF) as pulpotomy agents in mature permanent molars with irreversible pulpitis.

Settings And Design: Sixty permanent mandibular molars with carious exposure and symptoms of irreversible pulpitis were randomly allocated to three groups.

 Age estimation in forensic odontology is having a great importance in recent times because of the request by court or other government authorities so that immigrants whose real age is unknown should not suffer unfair disadvantages because of their supposed age, and so that all legal procedures to which an individual's age is relevant can be properly followed.  The present study was planned to be conducted on pulp tissue and dental hard tissues derived from individuals for DNA isolation and age determination .  The present study was an experimental single-blinded study consisting of 30 extracted teeth categorized into three groups as follows: Group A: 10 to 20 years, Group B: 21 to 30 years, Group C: 31 to 40 years.

Gingival calcifying epithelial tumor - a rare case report.

Calcifying epithelial odontogenic tumors are rare odontogenic neoplasms that account for approximately one percent of all odontogenic tumors. Extra osseous variant is very rare with very few cases being reported in literature Peripheral Calcifying epithelial odontogenic tumor (CEOT) commonly resemble oral hyperplastic or reactive lesions and are histologically similar to their intraosseous counterparts. Here we report a rare case of gingival calcifying epithelial odontogenic tumor in the mandibular posterior region in a 31 year old female patient.

Tonsillolith: a panoramic radiograph presentation.

Tonsilloliths are calcifications within a tonsillar crypt, involve primarily the palatine tonsil caused by dystrophic calcification as a result of chronic inflammation. Tonsilloliths are very uncommon and are microscopic. Tonsillar concretions sometimes produce symptoms which include non-specific chronic halitosis, irritable cough, dysphagia, otalgia and foreign body-like sensation or foul taste.

A five-year retrospective statistical analysis of maxillofacial injuries in patients admitted and treated at two hospitals of Mysore city.

Objectives: This study aims to provide a five-year retrospective statistical analysis of maxillofacial injuries in patients admitted and treated during 1 st January 1998 and 31 st December 2002 in two hospitals of Mysore city; to determine the age and sex distribution, etiology, type of injury, day and time of accident, and the influence of alcohol and other drugs; and to suggest measures to prevent such injuries.

Materials And Methods: After obtaining permission from the concerned authorities, a pre-designed questionnaire was used to collect the necessary data from the two hospitals. The data was then computerized and statistical analysis was done using statistical package for the social sciences (SPSS) windows version 10.
