Introduction: Appendicitis in pregnancy is the most common non-obstetric surgical condition which requires urgent evaluation and immediate intervention in a multidisciplinary approach. Pregnancy anatomical and physiological changes can mask the presentation of appendicitis and poses both diagnostic and management challenges.

Background: A high mortality has been reported during the first ninety days of cancer therapy and is more pronounced in patients with febrile neutropenia. The Bugando Medical Center oncology department offers cancer diagnosis and treatment services to the population of the Lake Zone of Tanzania with limited data on the outcome within 90 days of therapy. Here, we report the 90-day mortality and factors associated with it among cancer patients attending the oncology department of the tertiary hospital in Tanzania.

We report a case of disseminated cryptococcosis in a 42-year old immunocompetent female. Prior to admission at Bugando Medical Center, the patient was attended at three hospitals for hypertension and clinically diagnosed malaria. Following diagnosis of disseminated at our center, she was successfully treated with fluconazole but remained with visual loss.
