The study's objective was to develop a co-fermentation process with appropriate fermentation parameters to produce a sour beer (similar to a Belgium sour beer) with an ethanol content of 6-8% (v/v) using a coculture of Saccharomyces pastorianus and Lactobacillus plantarum. Statistical optimization was conducted to determine fermentation conditions to produce a sour beer with ~ 3 mg/mL of lactic acid, similar to the traditional sour beer levels. Studies were conducted on the microbial dynamics and volatile compounds produced during this fermentation and aging process.

A platform is a business model that allows business-to-business (B2B) participants to connect, interacts, create and exchange value. B2B exploits social media for brand building and branding is vulnerable to attacks, which leads to a brand crisis. B2B should characterise such crisis and respond proportionally to avert damage to social listening (SL).

Selection of aerator is a very important aspect in aquaculture operations. The selected aerator must be economically efficient and should be able to fulfil the requirement of oxygen supply in the pond water. In the present study, economic feasibility of nine different types of aerators, namely, perforated pooled circular stepped cascade (PPCSC), pooled circular stepped cascade (PCSC), circular stepped cascade (CSC), paddle wheel (PWA), spiral aerator (SA), propeller-aspirator-pump (PAA), submersible (SUBA), impeller aerator (IA) and air-jet aerator (AJA) was assessed based on capitalization method, a life cycle costing (LCC) approach.

With the growing popularity of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) among individuals with chronic pain and muscular problems, a number of patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) show their interest in CAM interventions for disease improvement. Various reports published on CAM are based on an animal model of RA; however, there is often a lack of high-quality clinical investigations for explaining the success stories of CAM therapies in patients with RA. CAMs having the potential to be used for therapy in patients with RA have been identified, however lack of awareness and skepticism of their efficacy has made the patients reluctant to choose these drug-less therapies.

Unlabelled: Chlorpyrifos (CP) is a persistent organophosphorus pesticide (OP) used in soil ecosystem for insect control. Bioremediation process has been proven promising in degrading these toxic molecules and restoring the physio-chemical properties of soil. This work reports a laboratory microcosm study in both non-sterile & sterile conditions, conducted over a period of 56 days to examine the combined effect of additional supplements like biostimulants (BSs) such as N, P, and K in the presence of suitable carrier materials (compost, wheat straw, and corncob) along with bioaugmentation by a sp.

Unlabelled: This study reports the whole-genome sequencing and sequence analysis of a bacterial isolate strain LS14, isolated from Loktak Lake, Imphal, India. The de novo assembled genome reported in this paper featured a size of 3,809,532 bp, has GC content of 68% and contains 3602 genomic features, including 3551 protein-coding genes, 46 tRNA and 5rRNA. A biosurfactant biosynthesis gene cluster in the genome of the isolated strain was identified using AntiSMASH online tool V3.

COVID-19 is a respiratory infection similar to viral pneumonia and is caused by SARS-CoV-2. Chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine make up the major part of the treatment regimen for the management of COVID-19 infections, which are also commonly used in treatment of patients with malaria as well as autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis (RA). In this review, we analyzed the scientific evidences pertaining to any possible association of SARS-CoV-2 infection with RA.

Background Birth asphyxia is a major cause of early neonatal death and leads to severe consequences such as epilepsy, cerebral palsy, and developmental delay. This study aims to determine the correlation between dyselectrolytemia and the degree of hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) and to find out major risk factors contributing to the severity of HIE and neonatal death. Methods In this prospective cohort study (n=150), term babies weighing ≥ 2.

(p)ppGpp, highly phosphorylated guanosine, are global regulatory nucleotides that modulate several biochemical events in bacterial physiology ranging from core central dogma to various metabolic pathways. Conventionally, (p)ppGpp collectively refers to two nucleotides, ppGpp, and pppGpp in the literature. Initially, (p)ppGpp has been discovered as a transcription regulatory molecule as it binds to RNA polymerase and regulates transcriptional gene regulation.

Objectives: Regions with limited sanitation facilities have higher rates of infections with various enteric pathogens. It is therefore important to identify different hosts and their relative contribution to pathogen shedding into the environment, and to assess the subsequent health risks to humans.
Methods: In this study, human faecal (n=310), animal faecal (n=150), and environmental (soil) samples (n=40) were collected from the same locality and screened for selected enteric pathogens by immunochromatography and/or polymerase chain reaction.

Hypothesis: The temperature dependences of hydrodynamic radii in thermo-sensitive microgel suspensions, known as collapse curves, are commonly fitted to the benchmark Flory-Rehner theory but parameters obtained often yield little physical insights. Our study of poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) microgel suspensions in water is driven by the hypothesis that fitting to Flory-Rehner theory can yield meaningful parameters that separate into ones that are insensitive to crosslink density or deuteration and ones that are not.
Experiments: Dynamic light scattering (DLS) and rheology experiments were done on 8 microgel variants, protonated and deuterated PNIPAM for four crosslink densities, synthesized under otherwise identical conditions.

Biogas obtained from organic remains entails a developed technology and an appreciable methane yield, but its use may not be sustainable. The potential methane yield of various lignocellulose biomass and the operational conditions employed are inherently reviewed. Although of lower methane yields compared to conventional substrates, agricultural biomass is a cheap option.
