Purpose: Little is known about the effects of ambient atmospheric pressure (AP) on intraocular pressure (IOP) under ordinary conditions. This study aimed to investigate the effects of AP on Goldmann applanation tonometer-measured IOP (GAT-IOP) in normal eyes under everyday atmospheric conditions adjusting for effects of possible confounding factors including other climatic factors.
Methods: Data obtained from 2,431 normal healthy eyes of 2,431 subjects (mean age: 56.

Purpose: To compare surgical results between ab-externo microshunt surgery and trabeculectomy, focusing on postoperative corneal astigmatism.
Study Design: Retrospective study.
Methods: Subjects were patients with glaucoma who underwent either standalone ab-externo microshunt surgery or trabeculectomy.

Introduction: Multidrug regimens for glaucoma treatment often result in adherence issues due to inconvenience; these issues may be improved with fixed-dose combination drugs. The ophthalmic solution of ripasudil-brimonidine fixed-dose combination (RBFC; K-232) is the first treatment combining a Rho kinase inhibitor and an α-adrenoceptor agonist, and has demonstrated ability to lower intraocular pressure (IOP) and have various effects on conjunctival hyperemia and corneal endothelial cell morphology. This study evaluates the pharmacologic effects of RBFC treatment versus its separate components-ripasudil or brimonidine.

Purpose: To confirm the superiority of the intraocular pressure (IOP)-lowering effect of the ripasudil-brimonidine fixed-dose combination (RBFC, K-232) to ripasudil 0.4% or brimonidine 0.1% ophthalmic solution.

Study Design: Retrospective, interventional case series METHODS: A total of 84 eyes of 62 patients with DME received either intravitreal ranibizumab (IVR; n = 62) or aflibercept (IVA; n = 22). A laser flare photometer (Kowa FM500, Kowa Company, Ltd) was used to measure flare values, and CMT was assessed using optical coherence tomography.

Purpose: To study the effect of the internal fixation lamp on anterior chamber width measured by anterior segment optical coherence tomography.
Methods: In a prospective cross sectional observational study, consecutive 22 right eyes of 22 patients (4 men and 18 women) with suspected primary angle closure underwent swept source domain anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT), (CASIA SS-1000, Tomey, Nagoya, Japan). Anterior chamber parameters of angle opening distance (AOD), trabecular-iris angle (TIA), angle recess area (ARA) at 500 or 750 µm from scleral spur and pupil diameter were measured by AS-OCT in a three-dimensional mode in 4 quadrants (superior, inferior, temporal and nasal) in dark room setting both with and without internal fixation lamp.

Purpose: To assess the contraction of continuous curvilinear capsulorhexis after cataract surgery in eyes with past pars plana vitrectomy.
Methods: In a prospective study, 16 eyes of 16 patients underwent phacoemulsification and implantation of a foldable acrylic intraocular lens after pars plana vitrectomy. Eyes after intensive or repeated vitrectomy were not included.

Purpose: To quantitatively assess pupillary functions after small pupil cataract surgery using the flexible iris retractor.
Methods: Subjects were 11 patients (12 eyes) with small pupils who underwent phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation. Pupils were enlarged using the flexible iris retractor intraoperatively, and postoperative iriscorder data were compared with the data of 20 normal controls who underwent standard phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation.
