Medial meniscus root tears (MMRTs) are serious injuries that disrupt knee biomechanics, often accelerating cartilage degeneration and osteoarthritis when left untreated. These injuries are increasingly recognized as a major cause of knee pain and functional limitations, particularly among middle-aged and older adults. This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the outcomes of conservative management compared to surgical intervention for MMRT, focusing on pain relief, functional recovery, and the progression of osteoarthritis.

Critically ill patients with sepsis have a high incidence of vitamin D deficiency. Vitamin D promotes the synthesis of human cathelicidin antimicrobial peptide, a precursor of LL-37, which is a part of the innate immune system. This study investigated the effectiveness and safety of the early administration of high-dose enteral vitamin D in comparison with low-dose vitamin D in patients with sepsis requiring mechanical ventilation (MV).

Decoy receptor 3 (DcR3) is a soluble decoy receptor that belongs to the tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily and has been reported to be elevated in several allergic and inflammatory diseases. Objectives: To evaluate audiological and vestibular functions via basic audiological evaluation, otoacoustic emissions and videonystagmography (VNG) in vitiligo patients.
Material And Methods: 30 vitiligo patients (8 acrofacial and 22 mixed types) as the study group and 30 normal healthy adults as the control group were included in the study. All participants were submitted to basic audiological evaluation, transient and distortion product otoacoustic emmisions (TEOAEs and DPOAEs), vestibular assessment including history taking, office tests and videonystagmography (VNG) and dermatological assessment to determine type, percent of body surface area involvement and duration of vitiligo.
