Objective: To evaluate the effects of percutaneous pigtail catheter drainage on the outcomes of intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) pregnancies following moderate or severe ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS).
Materials And Methods: This retrospective study included 189 patients hospitalized for OHSS following ICSI treatment in a tertiary in vitro fertilization unit between 2006 and 2014. Pigtail catheters were applied in 63 patients; the other 126 patients did not need that treatment.

Introduction: Major complications of colonic anastomosis include fistula, bleeding, and anastomotic stricture, and the most common one is anastomotic leakage. Many organic or inorganic tissue adhesives are being used such as fibrin glue or cyanoacrylate to strengthen or protect colonic anastomosis. Up to now, a great number of studies have been carried out to investigate the effects of these biomaterials.

Objective: Postoperative iPTH assay may predict significant hypocalcemia after thyroid surgery. The present study aimed to evaluate the ability of iPTH assay to monitor parathyroid function and to identify the risk of postoperative hypocalcemia in patients underwent thyroid surgery.
Materials And Methods: One hundred patients participated in the study (7 male and 93 female).

Objective: The relationship between platelet activation and psychiatric disorders has been shown in previous work. Mean platelet volume (MPV) is a measure of platelet size and a good indicator of platelet activity, which increases in cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). It is known that anxiety is a considerable factor in the etiology of mortality in CVDs.

Objective: The aim of our study was to investigate the ductus venosus doppler between 11-13+6 (week-day) in pregnant women with hemoglobinopaties and its relation with fetal outcomes.
Material And Methods: A total of 100 pregnant women with hemoglobinopathies and 100 healthy pregnant women were included in our study. Ultrasonography (USG) was performed to all pregnant women and the ductus venosus doppler (DVD) flows were evaluated.

Introduction: Elastofibroma dorsi(EFD) is slow-growing, benign, soft tissue tumor of unclear pathogenesis, typically located at the subscapular region of elderly people. It may be unilateral or bilateral. As it exhibits benign behavior, it should be surgically removed only in symptomatic patients.

The risks and benefits of antiplatelet treatment may be different in patients with chronic kidney disease, in whom tendency to thrombosis and bleeding hazards might be increased. Chronic kidney disease is also associated with poor response to antiplatelet therapy, and this represents a potentially important clinical problem in the setting of percutaneous coronary intervention and acute coronary syndrome. The use of new, potent P2Y12 inhibitors appears promising, although special consideration should be given to possible bleeding events.

Objective: Platelets have an important role in atherosclerosis and arterial thrombosis. Cardiovascular complication prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus (type 2 DM) may be associated with glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) and mean platelet volume (MPV). The aim of the study was to investigate if platelets were activated in diabetes and its associated vascular complications by measuring the MPV in the diabetics compared to the non-diabetics, and to determine the correlation of MPV with fasting serum glucose (FSG), HbA1c and duration of diabetes in the diabetic patients, respectively.

Background: Hemoglobin concentration (Hb) and left ventricular ejection fraction (EF) are known predictors of contrast induced nephropathy (CIN). We hypothesized that combination of Hb concentration and left ventricular EF is superior to either variable alone in predicting contrast induced nephropathy in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS).
Material And Methods: Consecutive patients with ACS were prospectively enrolled.

We assessed the effect of combination of neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and platelet-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) in predicting in-hospital and long-term mortality in patients (n = 2518) undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention (pPCI). Cutoff values for NLR and PLR were calculated with receiver-operating characteristic (ROC) curves. If both PLR and NLR were above the threshold, patients were classified as "high risk.

The Synergy between Percutaneous Coronary Intervention with Taxus and Cardiac Surgery (SYNTAX) score (SS) was developed for evaluation of coronary artery disease complexity. We aimed to compare the SS calculated by conventional coronary angiography (CAG) and computed tomography angiography (CTA). Retrospectively, 107 patients were recruited (mean age 55.

Objectives: The genetic risk factors that contribute to the risk of developing aortic dissection (AD) have been studied. We assessed the association of endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) gene polymorphism with AD.
Study Design: Patients who underwent surgery with the diagnosis of AD and survived after the operation in our center between May 2007 and June 2011 were recruited retrospectively.

Objective: Admission hyperglycemia in acute myocardial infarction (MI) is related with increased in-hospital and long term mortality and major cardiac adverse events. We aimed to investigate how admission hyperglycemia affects the short and long term outcomes in elderly patients (> 65 years) after primary percutaneous coronary intervention for ST elevation myocardial infarction.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 677 consecutive elderly patients (mean age 72.

Even though it is a rare complication, the pro-coagulant condition of pregnancy may predispose to thrombosis of a bio-prosthetic mitral valve (BPMV). We report the successful reduced-dose, slow infusion of tissue plasminogen activator (t-PA) to a BPMV thrombosis in a pregnant woman. When the patient was seen in the emergency clinic she was dyspnoeic and tachycardic and evaluated as NYHA class III-IV.

We prospectively assessed the value of estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) by the Modification of Diet in Renal Disease (MDRD) and Cockcroft-Gault (C-G) equations in predicting inhospital adverse outcomes after primary coronary intervention for acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction. We classified 647 patients into 3 categories according to eGFR, <60, 60 to 90, and >90 mL/min/1.73 m(2).

Aim: The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlations between thrombophilic mutations, anticoagulant activity and hemolysis, elevated liver functions and low thrombocyte count (HELLP) syndrome.
Material And Methods: Twenty-five healthy pregnant women (control group) and 34 patients with HELLP syndrome (study group) were included in the study between April 2007 and January 2008. Homocysteine levels and activities of protein C, protein S and antithrombin III of the groups were compared.
