Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are nanostructures, allotropes of carbon which are made up of graphene sheets wrapped around it forming cylindrical structures. CNTs have been regarded to have interesting and attractive physical and chemical properties and have been tremendously used in genetic engineering. Understanding the role of CNTs in development of transgenic plants, review of research papers in the field was done.

Glass forensics is an important area in forensic crime investigations, wherein glass origin or source finding is necessary mainly through chemical composition. In the present work, Nuclear Analytical Techniques namely external (in air) Particle Induced Gamma-ray Emission (PIGE) and Instrumental Neutron Activation Analysis (INAA) were utilized for complete chemical characterization of twenty-five "as received" windshield glass samples of six car manufactures. Concentrations of four major elements (Si, Na, Mg and Al) by PIGE using proton beam and nineteen elements including sixteen trace elements by INAA using research reactor neutrons were determined.

Densities, , viscosities, , and ultrasonic sound velocities of pure methyl isobutylketone, diethylketone, cyclopentanone, cyclohexanone, 2-methyl cyclohexanone and those of their binary mixtures with -methyl aniline were measured at 303.15 K over the entire composition range. These experimental data have been used to calculate the excess volume (), deviation in ultrasonic sound velocity (∆), isentropic compressibility ( ), intermolecular free length (), excess intermolecular free length ([Formula: see text]), acoustic impedance (), excess isentropic compressibility ([Formula: see text]), deviation in viscosity (∆) and excess Gibbs energy of activation of viscous flow ().

The effect of sewage water irrigation along with the N-fertilizers on NO3 accumulation and on the in vivo NR assay in three leafy vegetable crops were studied. It was found that the NO3 content in the leaves from the experimental sites were around two fold than the control and the NR enzyme activity was comparatively more in the control samples. The in vivo NRA with NaCl treatment increased at low level of NaCl where as with high level of NaCl, the enzyme activity decreased considerably.

5,5-Dimethylcyclohexane-1,3-dione was treated with semicarbazide to yield its acid hydrazide, which on further reaction under ultrasound condition with aryl isothiocyanates gave 1,3-bis-imino-[1-(carboxy)-4-substituted phenylthiosemicarbazide]-5,5-dimethylcyclohexane. This compound in acidic medium gave 1,3-bis-imino-[5-(substituted) phenylamino-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl-]-5,5-dimethylcyclohexane, whereas in basic medium 1,3-bis-imino-[4-(substituted) phenyl-5-mercapto-1,2,4-triazol-3-yl-]-5,5-dimethylcyclohexane was obtained. The synthesized compounds were investigated for their antibacterial activities.

The development of cancerous cells from the normal cells is the consequence of multiple genetic and epigenetic abuses. Activation of "Angiogenic switch" or formation of new blood vessels is one of the upshots of these abuses. Multiple factors are associated with the activation of angiogenic switch.

The author proposes an explanatory model to modify Hahnemann's old tool--"similia similibus curantur"--and suggested a new experimental design to be used to detect the root cause of several chronic diseases and to treat them. All the biochemical reactions of an ideal cell are interlinked by enzymes like a network and shortfall of any one of them may create specific combination of symptoms (e.g.
