Reduction of iron in high-phosphorus oolitic ore from the Lisakovsk deposit using solid carbon, carbon monoxide, and hydrogen. An X-ray phase analysis was used to determine the phase composition of the samples after reduction roasting. When reduced with carbon monoxide or hydrogen, α-iron appears in the samples, while phosphorus remains in the form of iron, calcium, and aluminum phosphates.

This study evaluates the utilization of in vitro embryo production (IVEP) technology for the conservation and breeding of the Auliekol cattle breed, a primary beef breed in Kazakhstan facing population decline due to the cessation of breeding programs and the incursion of transboundary diseases. We assessed the effect of consecutive ovum pick-up (OPU) procedures on oocyte yield and embryo production in Auliekol and Aberdeen Angus cows. A total of 2232 and 3659 oocytes were aspirated from Auliekol and Aberdeen Angus donors, respectively, with significantly higher yields and embryo production observed in Aberdeen Angus cows.

The work has a complex character, including earlier laboratory studies of the slag carbonization process under different conditions, as well as studies of chemical and mineralogical composition of initial waste slags taken from the slag dump and samples of bricks subjected to carbonization. The composition of slags and obtained products was investigated by XRD, DTA, DTG and XRF analyses, which showed that the main phases of the studied samples are dicalcium silicate, montichelite, periclase, magnesiochromite, calcite.

One of the valuable fractions of paraffinic oils is the diesel fraction, which can be used as a commercial fuel. However, the high content of alkanes of normal structure (~10-40%) in the diesel fraction leads to a deterioration in the performance characteristics of the fuel and, as a result, the inability to use the diesel fraction without additional processing in the cold season at lower temperatures, which is critical for many regions with cold winters. The process of catalytic dewaxing is one of the most promising ways to improve the low-temperature characteristics of diesel fractions.

Background: To date, basidiomycetes are considered to be promising objects of biotechnology, due to a number of biologically active compounds, such as polysaccharides and triterpenes. These compounds have a high therapeutic potential and demonstrate immunomodulatory, antiviral, and antifungal activities.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to study the effect of various concentrations of metal citrates and sulphates on the content of exo- and endopolysaccharides of the fungus Trametes versicolor.

Groundwater is one of the main sources of water for irrigation used worldwide. However, the application of the resource is threatened by the possibility of high saline levels, especially in low-lying coastal regions. Furthermore, the lack of readily accessible materials for successful treatment procedures makes the purification of such water a constant challenge.

The paper studies the properties of brass workpieces for antifriction rings under severe plastic deformation by high-pressure torsion. The evolution of microstructure and mechanical properties of deformed workpieces after six cycles of deformation by high-pressure torsion at 500 °C have been studied. All metallographic studies were performed using modern methods: transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and analysis electron back scatter diffraction patterns (EBSD).

Electrochemical methods have been increasingly gaining popularity in the field of wastewater treatment. However, the performance of these methods can be highly affected by the polarity direction as determined by the electrodes arrangement (anode to cathode or cathode to anode); as well as the characteristics of the wastewater to be treated as determined by the type of wastewater. The presented research work investigated the relationship between polarity direction and the removal of pollutants from poultry slaughterhouse wastewater using titanium and aluminium electrode materials.
