Background: A survey of neonates with esophageal atresia and tracheoesophageal fistula (EA ± TEF) to determine additional factors responsible for poor surgical outcomes in our institution where employing an improved standard of care can ameliorate the outcome.

Materials And Methods: We carried out a retrospective review of 54 neonates, who underwent surgical repair of EA± TEF over a 5-year period. We collected data regarding the patients' demographics, perioperative findings, records of neonatal intensive care, and ascertained the effects of gender, gestational age, birth weight, age at operation, type of anomaly, coexisting major anomalies, preoperative inotrope therapy, and duration of postoperative ventilation on the surgical outcome.

Dyke-Davidoff-Masson syndrome (DDMS) is a rare disorder characterized by recurrent seizures, facial asymmetry, contralateral hemiplegia, radiologic features of cerebral hemiatrophy, and ipsilateral compensatory hypertrophy of the skull bone and sinuses. We describe three cases of children with DDMS, who initially presented with refractory seizure to the pediatric department of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, India. In each case, the clinical features noted along with computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging helped confirm the diagnosis of DDMS.

An extensive morphometric study of human trachea and principal bronchi was undertaken in the Department of Anatomy, Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research, Kolkata, West Bengal, India, on 87 specimens procured from 51 male and 36 female relatively disease free fresh cadavers from Kolkata Police Morgue. Background: Patellar dislocations are either due to superolateral contracture of the soft tissue or imbalance of the power between the vastus medialis (VM) and the vastus lateralis (VL). The imbalance of muscle power as an etiology of patellar dislocation has not been studied.
