This research presents an innovative approach for synthesizing 2-amino-4H-chromene derivatives, utilizing 30 mg of NS-doped graphene oxide quantum dots (GOQDs) as a catalyst in a one-pot, three-component reaction conducted in ethanol. The NS-doped GOQDs were synthesized using a cost-effective bottom-up method through the condensation of citric acid (CA) with thiourea and the reaction was carried out at 185 C, resulting in the elimination of water. The catalytic performance of the synthesized NS-doped GOQDs resulted in high product yields, achieving up to 98% for the 2-amino-4H-chromene derivatives from aromatic aldehydes, malononitrile, resorcinol, -naphthol, and dimedone.

The widespread use of pesticides, including diazinon, poses an increased risk of environmental pollution and detrimental effects on biodiversity, food security, and water resources. In this study, we investigated the impact of Potentially Toxic Elements (PTE) including Zn, Cd, V, and Mn on the degradation of diazinon in three different soils. We investigated the capability and performance of four machine learning models to predict residual pesticide concentration, including adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS), support vector regression (SVR), radial basis function (RBF), and multi-layer perceptron (MLP).

Multibit/analog artificial synapses are in demand for neuromorphic computing systems. A problem hindering the utilization of memristive artificial synapses in commercial neuromorphic systems is the rigidity of their functional parameters, plasticity in particular. Here, we report fabricating polycrystalline rutile-based memristive memory segments with Ti/poly-TiO/Ti structures featuring multibit/analog storage and the first use of a tunable DC-biasing for synaptic plasticity adjustment from short- to long-term.

Department of Mechanical Engineering, K.N. Toosi University of Technology, Energy Systems Division, No. 19, Pardis Street, Molla Sadra Ave., Vanak Sq., P.O. Box 19395-1999, Tehran, Iran.

Ammonia is a versatile energy carrier without carbon emissions that can be used for power generation. In this article, a techno-economic analysis has been done to predict the levelized cost of electricity production using gas turbines with clean fuel in Iran. In the technical discussion, the analysis of different scenarios of ammonia and hydrogen fuel composition ratio was done, and by keeping the turbine inlet temperature to the same gas turbine as the SGT5-2000E turbine, the output power in different fuel ratios is around 192.

Multifunctional wound dressings with antibacterial and antioxidant properties hold significant promise for treating chronic wounds; however, achieving a balance of these characteristics while maintaining biocompatibility is challenging. To enhance this balance, this study focuses on the design and development of 3D-printed chitosan-matrix composite scaffolds, which are incorporated with varying amounts of cerium oxide nanoparticles (0, 1, 3, 5, and 7 wt%) and subsequently coated with a vancomycin-loaded alginate layer. The structure, antibiotic drug delivery kinetics, biodegradation, swelling, biocompatibility, antibacterial, antioxidant, and cell migration behaviors of the fabricated dressings were evaluated in-vitro.
