Hemosiderotic dermatofibroma mimicking melanoma in a 12-year-old boy: a case report.

We report a case of hemosiderotic dermatofibroma presenting as a brown-black-colored nodule with peripheral extensions, which mimics melanoma. Histopathology showed completely benign features with no atypia or mitosis. Nodular extensions of childhood dermatofibromas may be related to the growth of the child not necessarily pointing to a malignant process.

The Effect of Mulligan Mobilization Technique in Older Adults with Neck Pain: A Randomized Controlled, Double-Blind Study.

Background: The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of Mulligan mobilization technique (MMT) on pain, range of motion (ROM), functional level, kinesiophobia, depression, and quality of life (QoL) in older adults with neck pain (NP).

Methods: Forty-two older adults with NP were included in the study, and they were randomly divided into two groups: traditional physiotherapy (TP) group and traditional physiotherapy-Mulligan mobilization (TPMM) group. Treatment program was scheduled for 10 sessions.

Changes in the parameters of ventricular repolarization during preapnea, apnea, and postapnea periods in patients with obstructive sleep apnea.

Background: Ventricular arrhythmias are reported to be more common in patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Preliminary evidence showed such parameters regarding ventricular repolarization as Tp-e, Tp-e/QT, and Tp-e/QTc may be related with increased cardiac arrhythmias and even sudden cardiac death. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate ventricular repolarization during immediately preapnea period, apnea period, and postapnea hyperventilation period in patients with OSA.

Arthroscopic medial meniscal repair with or without concurrent anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction: A subgroup analysis.

Background: There are few large-scale, long-term studies comparing medial meniscal repairs with or without concurrent anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction.

Methods: A total of 140 patients who underwent arthroscopic medial meniscal repair were divided into two groups: Group A, meniscus repair only and Group B, meniscus repair with concurrent ACL reconstruction. Clinical assessments in- cluded physical examination findings, Lysholm score, and the International Knee Documentation Committee (IKDC) form.

Background: Cardiovascular diseases are still one of the leading causes of death in industrialised countries, and oxidative stress plays an important role in the pathogenesis of acute coronary syndromes (ACS). The dynamic thiol/disulphide homeostasis plays an important role in maintaining the oxidant-antioxidant balance.

Aim: We aimed to demonstrate the relationship between dynamic thiol/disulphide homeostasis parameters and non-ST elevation ACS (NSTE-ACS).

Comparison of Intra-articular Injection of Hyaluronic Acid and N-Acetyl Cysteine in the Treatment of Knee Osteoarthritis: A Pilot Study.

Objective To compare the relative effectiveness of intra-articular N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) and hyaluronic acid (HA) on pain, function and cartilage degradation markers in patients with mild to moderate knee osteoarthritis (OA). Design We prospectively conducted a clinical trial with 20 patients having a diagnosis of Kellgren-Lawrence grade 2-3 knee OA, and randomly allocated to the HA or NAC groups. Groups were matched on age, sex, and body mass index.

Necessity of Periodic Ophthalmological Examinations in Binocular B Class Driving Licence Holders Over 50 Years of Age.

Objective: To determine whether binocular B class driving licence (BBCDL) holders over 50 years old are in compliance with the BBCDL criteria for visual acuity, to determine the age-based prevalence of ophthalmological disorders reducing visual acuity in this group, and to investigate whether periodic ophthalmological examinations are needed in licence holders over 50 years of age.

Materials And Methods: This prospective study enrolled 451 adults over 50 years old having a BBCDL. The study subjects were categorized into 3 age groups as group 1 (51-60 years), group 2 (61-70 years), and group 3 (over 71 years).
