The Effect of a Physical Activity Program on Subjective Well-Being, Happiness and Problem-Solving Skills in Patients with Schizophrenia: A Randomized Controlled Trial.

The aim of this randomized controlled trial was to examine the effect of Physical Activity Program applied to patients with schizophrenia on subjective well-being, happiness and problem-solving skills levels. This study was conducted with a total of 86 individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia (43 intervention and 43 control) registered in a family health center. Subjective Well-Being Scale, the Short Form of the Oxford Happiness Questionnaire and Problem-Solving Inventory were used to collect the data at baseline and, post-intervention.

Evaluation of the coping attitudes of Alzheimer patients' relatives from the perspectives of depression, anxiety and guilt.

This study aims to assess coping attitudes in primary caregivers of individuals diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease residing in an institution, and to evaluate the association between coping attitudes and levels of guilt, depression, and anxiety among caregivers. The sample of this study consists of 150 individuals with relatives diagnosed with Alzheimer. The Beck Anxiety Inventory, the Coping Attitudes Scale, the Guilt Inventory, and the Beck Depression Inventory were used in the present study.

Use of flow cytometry method to detect contaminations of platelet suspensions.

In this study, it was aimed to investigate bacterial contamination in apheresis platelet suspensions (APS) by automated blood culture system and flow cytometry method (FCM).33 spiked APS each using 11 bacterial strains (5 standard strains, 6 clinical isolates), were prepared in three different dilutions (1-10, 10-50, 50-100 cfu/mL), incubated in two different temperatures (35-37 °C and 22-24 °C) and different incubation times (18-96 h) evaluated by FCM. This three different dilutions were also inoculated into special platelet culture bottles (BacT/ALERT® BPA) and loaded into the blood culture system.

Herein, we combined two strategies of associating brittle and ductile networks in a structure and incorporating inorganic particles into the polymeric gel to design mechanically enhanced nanocomposite double network (DN) starch gels. Objective: Autoimmune encephalitis (AE) is a distinct neuro-immunological disorder associated with the production of autoantibodies against neuronal proteins responsible for pharmacoresistant seizures, cognitive decline and behavioral problems. To establish the causal link between leucine-rich glioma inactivated 1 (LGI1) antibody and seizures, we developed an antibody-mediated AE rat model in which serum antibodies (IgG) obtained from blood samples of leucine-rich glioma inactivated 1 (LGI1) protein antibody (IgG) positive encephalitis patients were passively transferred into non-epileptic Wistar rats. Serum IgG of N-methyl-d-aspartate receptor (NMDAR) antibody positive patients were used as positive control since the pathogenicity of this antibody has been previously shown in animal models.

A Parasitological Examination on Aquarium Fish Sold in Petshops in Kırıkkale.

Objective: The aim of the present study was to determine the prevalence of parasitic infections in aquarium fish sold in local pet shops.

Methods: Totally 502 fish samples from 8 species were obtained from 7 pet shops. Native preparations were prepared from the gills, fins, skin, intestines, and internal organs of fish and examined under a light microscope.

Method: This study is a randomised controlled study designed in a pre-test post-test design. It was conducted with 72 patients in total, 36 of whom were interventions and 36 were controls, at the Alzheimer's Day Life Centre.
