Background/aims: The incidence of retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) is increasing and treatment options are expanding, often without accompanying safety data. We aimed to define a minimal, patient-centred data set that is feasible to collect in clinical practice and can be used collaboratively to track and compare outcomes of ROP treatment with a view to improving patient outcomes.

Methods: A multinational group of clinicians and a patient representative with expertise in ROP and registry development collaborated to develop a data set that focused on real-world parameters and outcomes that were patient centred, minimal and feasible to collect in routine clinical practice.

Evaluation of the Impacts of Reiki Touch Therapy on Patients Diagnosed With Fibromyalgia Who Are Followed in the Pain Clinic.

The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of Reiki application on pain, anxiety, and quality of life in patients with fibromyalgia. The study was completed with a total of 50 patients: 25 in the experimental group and 25 in the control group. Reiki was applied to the experimental group and sham Reiki to the control group once a week for 4 weeks.

Morphological and biomechanical effects of vitamin K2 on fracture healing: An animal study on the rat tibia fracture model.

Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of vitamin K2 on fracture healing.

Methods: Twenty-four 6-week-old male Wistar albino rats that had open tibia fractures induced were included in this study. They were divided into 2 groups of 12, a group that had vitamin K2 administered over 30 consecutive days and a control group.

Relationship Between Nasal Septal Deviation Angles and Turbinates: A Computed Tomography Study.

Background This study aimed to evaluate inferior turbinate hypertrophy caused by nasal septum deviation, nasal septal deviation (SD) angles, and age differences with the help of paranasal computed tomography (CT) and to investigate the relationship between these parameters. Methodology The paranasal sinus CT images of 100 patients (50 males and 50 females) were retrieved from the hospital's picture archiving and communication system. In this retrospective study, patients were examined in two groups.

Investigating the protective effect of glutamine against cerebral ischemia and bilateral carotid occlusion in rats.

Background: This study aims to investigate the protective effects of glutamine against cerebral injury resulting from cerebral ischemia-reperfusion by bilateral carotid occlusion in rats.

Methods: Eighteen Wistar albino rats were randomly divided into three equal groups: 1) control group; 2) ischemia-reperfusion group which underwent clamping of the carotid artery for 20 min; and 3) ischemiareperfusion + glutamine group which was treated with two doses of glutamine (1 g/kg) prior to the same clamping procedure as the ischemia-reperfusion group. All rats were sacrificed 24 h after the experiment.

In our study, we aimed to evaluate the pathological response rates and side effect profile of adding pertuzumab to the treatment of HER2+ locally advanced, inflammatory, or early-stage breast cancer. This study was conducted by the Turkish Oncology Group (TOG) with data collected from 32 centers. Our study was multicentric, and a total of 364 patients were included.

ESTRO ACROP and SIOPE recommendations for myeloablative Total Body Irradiation in children.

Background And Purpose: Myeloablative Total Body Irradiation (TBI) is an important modality in conditioning for allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT), especially in children with high-risk acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). TBI practices are heterogeneous and institution-specific. Since TBI is associated with multiple late adverse effects, recommendations may help to standardize practices and improve the outcome versus toxicity ratio for children.

Can C-reactive protein-based biomarkers be used as predictive of 30-day mortality in elderly hip fractures?A retrospective study.

Background: C-reactive protein-to-lymphocyte ratio (CLR), C-reactive protein/albumin (CRP/ALB), and CRP are prognostic factors for outcome and survival in oncology and digestive surgery. CLR has not been studied for the prediction of mortality in hip fracture. The aim of this study is to investigate whether there is an association between pre-operative CLR, CRP/ALB, and CRP levels in patients with hip fracture and patient survival.

Systemic therapy for salivary gland malignancy: current status and future perspectives.

Salivary gland malignancies are rare neoplasms that have a broad histological spectrum and a variety of biologic behaviors. Salivary gland malignancies are known as chemo-resistant tumors, which render optimal treatment challenging. This review summarizes the role of systemic therapy for salivary gland malignancies.

An evaluation of people's knowledge of adult vaccination information level and attitudes during the pandemic Era.

Objective: This research was carried out to evaluate people's knowledge of adult vaccination and their attitude and to observe the effect of the pandemic era on this situation.

Methods: A total of 1,425 people (18-80 years old) were included in this study. The types of questions like the province where they live, age, gender, occupation, education status, and the presence of chronic diseases, as well as knowing which vaccines are used in adult vaccination, which of these vaccines they had in the last 10 years, which ones they plan to have this year, and whether COVID-19 pandemic changed their perspective on adult vaccinations or not were asked to people.

Background: Medication overuse headache (MOH) is the worsening of an underlying headache due to the overuse of its acute treatment. Unintentionally, healthcare professionals may contribute to this condition. Health professionals play an important role in preventing this increasingly frequent and difficult-to-treat condition.

Assessment of PD-L1 expression in patients with neuroblastoma and renal tumors.

Background: Programmed death 1 (PD-1) is a co-receptor which is located at the surface of cells like natural killer, monocytes, T and B cells. It has two ligands including programmed death ligand-1 (PD-L1) and ligand-2 (PD-L2). T cell functions are inhibited by activation of PD-1/PD-L1 pathway and this pathway is used by viruses and some tumor cells in order to escape from immune eradication.

The Effect of Plaster of Paris on Reliabilities of RUST and mRUST Scoring Systems.

PURPOSE OF THE STUDY The aim of our study is to investigate the reliabilities of the radiographic union score for tibial fracture (RUST) and modified RUST scoring systems in the evaluation of fracture healing in adult tibia fractures treated with intramedullary nailing and pediatric tibia fractures treated with closed reduction and cast immobilization and to compare the reliabilities between two groups. MATERIAL AND METHODS Between January 2016 and January 2020, the informations of patients (ages of 4-10) with tibia fractures treated with closed reduction and casting and patients (aged 18-65 years) with tibia fractures treated with intramedullary nailing were analyzed retrospectively. Forty-seven good quality AP and lateral radiographs (represent different healing stages) each for pediatric and adult fracture groups were selected and were included in two PPTs separately.

Background: The procoagulant state in cancer increases the thrombotic risk, and underlying cancer could affect treatment strategies and outcomes in patients with ischemic stroke. Introduction: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a common lung disease characterized by airflow restriction and systemic inflammation. Folfirinox versus gemcitabine-cisplatin combination as first-line therapy in treatment of pancreaticobiliary cancer.

Background/aim: The purpose of this study was to compare efficacy and safety of a combination chemotherapy regimen consisting of oxaliplatin, irinotecan, fluorouracil, and leucovorin (FOLFIRINOX) and gemcitabine-cisplatin as first-line therapy in patients with pancreatic cancer.

Materials And Methods: Pancreaticobiliary cancer patients who had Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group performance status score of 0 or 1 (on a scale of 0 to 5, with higher scores indicating greater severity of illness) were evaluated to receive folfirinox or gemcitabine plus cisplatin. Objective: Stenting is an established endoscopic therapy for malignant gastric outlet obstruction (mGOO). The choice of stent (covered vs uncovered) has been examined in prior randomised studies without clear results.

Design: In a multicentre randomised prospective study, we compared covered (CSEMS) with uncovered self-expandable metal stents (UCSEMS) in patients with mGOO; main outcomes were stent dysfunction and patient survival, with subgroup analyses of patients with extrinsic and intrinsic tumours.

Methods: An electronic survey was sent out to 233 SIOPE affiliated centers, containing 57 questions about clinical practice of TBI.
