Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic inflammatory skin disease characterized by type 2 immune responses. Interleukin-25 (IL-25) is produced predominantly by epithelial cells. It can activate Th2 cells to produce type 2 cytokines such as IL-4, IL-5 and IL-13, contributing to host defense against nematodes.

Background And Aims: Intraductal papillary neoplasms of bile duct (IPNBs) remain a challenging entity to manage.
Methods: The pathologic spectrum of 34 gastric subtype of IPNB (gIPNB) cases was examined in consideration of the type 1 and 2 subclassification proposed by Japan-Korea consensus and compared with gastric subtype of pancreatic intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm (gIPMN) (44 cases).
Results: Type 1 gIPNBs (17 cases) showed regular papillary foveola with variable tubular pyloric glands.

Many medical doctors regard the end stage and palliative care of neurological intractable diseases as the point at which aggressive treatment should be interrupted and death is imminent. However, the definition of health by the World Health Organization as the physical, psychological, and social goal to achieve a fully favorable health condition should be revisited. In the real clinical setting, the health condition, as the ability to adapt and self-manage in the face of social, physical, and emotional challenges with the aim to overcome stress (resilience), is dynamic and involves a healthy condition and satisfaction with one's own living.

The blood supply to the region of the cavernous sinus is provided by interconnecting branches of the internal and external carotid arteries, and it is from these vessels that dural arteriovenous fistulas (DAVFs) arise. It is very rare that DAVFs are located at the intercavernous sinuses region; in this case, a proper localization of the fistulous site is of extreme importance in order to successfully eliminate the disease. Here, we describe a case of a 65-year-old female with intercavernous sinus DAVF.

Here, we report the results of a Phase I clinical trial to investigate the safety, immunostimulatory effects, and antineoplastic activity of a multi-target vaccine composed of four distinct peptides derived from cancer-testis (CT) antigens and vascular endothelial growth factor receptors (VEGFRs). Nine patients with unresectable, advanced pancreatic cancer who were refractory to standard chemotherapy were enrolled.

Exostosis occurs in the ribs either sporadically or as a manifestation of a genetic disorder known as hereditary multiple exostoses. Costal exostosis may cause chest pain and, on rare occasions, result in hemothorax. We report a case of hemothorax owing to costal exostosis in a 4-year-old boy.

From a pathophysiological perspective, several studies have been performed on cytokines in chronic renal failure patients treated with continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD). Because the peritoneal macrophages in CAPD patients produce some cytokines and the urinary secretion route for cytokines lost in those patients, CAPD patients are considered to have different plasma cytokine levels. Among the various cytokines, research on certain inflammatory cytokine levels has been reported.
