Background: Older adults might not use computers due to psychological barriers, environmental barriers such as not owning a computer or lack of internet access, and health-related barriers such as difficulties with fine motor skills, low cognitive function, or low vision. Given the health benefits of internet use among older adults, inadequate use of the internet is an urgent public health issue in many countries.

Objective: We aimed to determine whether visual impairment is associated with internet use in a population-based sample of older adults.

Background: Severe liver failure with ascites may be associated with cardiac disease and may be the primary manifestation of constrictive pericarditis or aortic dissection. We report a case of a patient with a chief complaint of ascites for whom close examination revealed that the liver injury was attributed to constrictive pericarditis and chronic aortic dissection, with immunoglobulin G4 (IgG4)-related disease (IgG4-RD) as the primary cause.

Case Summary: A 72-year-old man presented to the emergency department with scrotal oedema and ascites.

Mesonephric-like adenocarcinoma is a rare neoplasm of the uterine corpus and ovary. Unlike prototypical mesonephric adenocarcinoma of the uterine cervix, which is considered of Wolffian origin, recent evidence suggests that mesonephric-like adenocarcinoma is a Mullerian tumor associated with endometriosis. We report here on a 48-year-old woman with a mixed carcinoma of the ovary that consisted of mesonephric-like adenocarcinoma, clear cell carcinoma, and endometrioid carcinoma, arising from an endometriotic cyst.

Purpose: Failure of enteric neural crest-derived cells (ENCCs) to correctly colonize the embryonic gut results in Hirschsprung's disease (HD). Embryonic stem cells (ESCs) have the potential to differentiate into all tissue-specific cells and lineages, including ENCCs. We investigated the cellular differentiation of ESCs from Sox10-Venus mice into both control and endothelin receptor-B knockout (Ednrb KO) mouse gut to assess each region.

Background: While it has been recognized that visual impairment is associated with poor self-rated health (SRH), in addition to various negative health outcomes of visual impairment, the number of older adults with visual impairment is increasing due to population aging. As increasing evidence has been found for the effectiveness of social participation on good SRH, we examined whether there was an association between social participation and SRH and investigated whether the effect differed by visual status.

Methods: Questionnaire data on self-reported visual status, social participation, socioeconomic status, and SRH were obtained in 2016.

Advanced Parkinson's disease is inconsistently defined, and evidence is lacking in relation to device-aided therapies. To update existing reviews of intrajejunal infusion of levodopa/carbidopa (LCIG), we performed a literature search for relevant articles (to November 3, 2020) using PubMed supplemented by hand searching. Retrieved articles were categorized by relevance to identified research questions, including motor complications and symptoms; nonmotor symptoms; functioning, quality of life, and caregiver burden; optimal timing of treatment initiation and administration duration; discontinuation; and complications.

In patients with well-differentiated papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC), late recurrence is very rare. It is unusual that F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron-emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) shows hypermetabolic lesions in patients with well-differentiated PTC metastases. We demonstrate an exceptional case exhibiting a first relapse 37 years after hemithyroidectomy to treat PTC.
