Objectives: Studies show that chronic injuries like air pollution or acute damage such as hepatic ischemia-reperfusion (IR) cause various cellular pathologies such as oxidative stress, apoptosis, autophagy, and inflammation in hepatocytes. -Coumaric acid (CA) is known as an antioxidant with many therapeutic impacts on inflammatory-related pathologies. In this experiment, we aimed to assess the hepatoprotective effects of -CA on liver damage induced by dust and IR injury in adult male rats.

Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of four weeks of high intensity interval training (HIIT) with beetroot juice supplementation (BJ) on serotonin and dopamine receptors in hippocampal tissue, as well as anxiety and depression in middle-aged diabetic rats.
Materials And Methods: In this experimental study, 28 diabetic female rats (55 mg/kg, induced by streptozotocin) aged 12-14 months, weighing 280-320 g, were divided into (1) diabetic control (DC), (2) BJ, (3) HIIT, and (4) HIIT+BJ groups. Also, 7 healthy rats were included in the healthy control (HC) group to evaluate the effect of diabetes induction on the research variables.

Objectives: Activated cells which are called star-shaped cells, are some of the key factors in the development of liver fibrosis. Activation of NADPH oxidase (NOX) is associated with increased HSCs activity and progression of hepatic fibrosis. In this study, the effects of human exosomes derived from WJ-MSCs on NOX1, NOX2, and NOX4 gene expression in TGF-β-induced hepatic fibrosis were investigated.

Background & Aims: Considering that no standard therapy has yet been found for the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), identifying severe cases as early as possible, and such that treatment procedures can be escalated seems necessary. Hence, the present study aimed to develop a machine learning (ML) approach for automated severity assessment of COVID-19 based on clinical and paraclinical characteristics like serum levels of zinc, calcium, and vitamin D.
Methods: In this analytical cross-sectional study which was conducted from May 2020 to May 2021, clinical and paraclinical data sets of COVID-19-positive patients with known outcomes were investigated by combining statistical comparison and correlation methods with ML algorithms, including Decision Tree (DT), Random Forest (RF), and Support Vector Machine (SVM).

Objective: Berberine, a plant derived alkaloid, present in Berberis species is well known as one of the most important antioxidants. The current research aimed to study the heamatoprotective characteristics of berberine and clarify its plausible mechanisms against sodium nitrite.
Methods: Forty numbers of male Sprague Dawley rats were categorized into five equal groups, including group 1: control (normal saline); group 2: berberine (100 mg/kg); group 3: sodium nitrite (80 mg/kg); group 4: sodium nitrite (80 mg/kg) plus berberine (50 mg/kg) and group 5: sodium nitrite (80 mg/kg) plus berberine (100 mg/kg) groups.

Understanding the molecular pattern of fertility is considered as an important step in breeding of different species, and despite the high importance of the fertility, little success has been achieved in dissecting the interactome basis of sheep fertility. However, the complex mechanisms associated with prolificacy in sheep have not been fully understood. Therefore, this study aimed to use competitive endogenous RNA (ceRNA) networks to evaluate this trait to better understand the molecular mechanisms responsible for fertility.

Autosomal recessive spastic ataxia of Charlevoix Saguenay (ARSACS) is now increasingly identified from all countries over the world, possibly rendering it one of the most common autosomal recessive ataxias. Here, we selected patients harboring SACS variants, the causative gene for ARSACS, in a large cohort of 137 patients with early-onset ataxia recruited from May 2019 to May 2021 and were referred to the ataxia clinic. Genetic studies were performed for 111 out of 137 patients (81%) which led to a diagnostic rate of 72.

Background: Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic autoimmune disease of the central nervous system(CNS). It is widely accepted that the development and progression of MS result from aberrant activation of potentially encephalitogenic reactive-T cells against CNS antigens. The pathologic roles of both CD4+ (T helper; Th) and CD8+ T cells have been demonstrated in MS lesions.
