The Association between Late Third-Trimester Oxytocin Level and Early-Onset Postpartum Depression Symptoms among Jordanian Mothers: A Cross-sectional Study.

Purpose: Oxytocin has been suggested to play a vital role in modulating maternal behavior and stress-related disorders. However, the relationship between antenatal oxytocin and postpartum depression is not well established. We aim to investigate the association between serum oxytocin level in the late third-trimester and early-onset postpartum depression symptoms.

Therapeutics effects of inhaled magnesium sulfate combined with adrenergic beta-2 agonist on children with acute asthma: Systematic review and meta-analysis.

Aim: To review the evidence on the effectiveness of inhaled magnesium sulfate (MgSO4) combined with beta-2 (B2) agonist as compared to inhaled B2 agonist alone in treating pediatric patients with moderate to severe asthma attacks METHODS: The search was conducted on five electronic databases namely the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL), Medline, PubMed, Science Direct, and Google Scholar.

Results: Eight trials were included in the review. All studies involved a total of 1585 children aged 2-17 years with moderate to severe asthma attacks.

Statin Induced Myopathy Among Patients Attending the National Center for Diabetes, endocrinology, & genetics.

Background And Objectives: myopathy is a major side effect of statins that leads to statin intolerance and discontinuation. In this prospective cohort study, the main objective was to estimate the incidence of myopathy in patients receiving statins. In addition, we identified some risk factors associated with statin induced myopathy.

A Comparison of the Surface and Mechanical Properties of 3D Printable Denture-Base Resin Material and Conventional Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA).

Purpose: To study the surface and mechanical properties of 3D printed denture-base resin materials and compare them with conventional heat-cured polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA).

Materials And Methods: Three brands of 3D printed denture-base resin materials and one conventional heat-cured PMMA were tested in this study: NextDent 3D printed resin, Dentona 3D printed resin, ASIGA 3D printed resin, and Meliodent conventional PMMA. Sixty specimens (25 × 25 × 3 mm) were fabricated (n=15 per group) to perform the following tests: wettability, surface roughness, and microhardness.

Mothers' knowledge and attitudes about newborn screening in Jordan.

Newborn screening is an important public health program that helps save the lives of many infants worldwide. The aim of this cross-sectional descriptive study was to examine the knowledge and attitudes of mothers regarding the newborn screening test in Jordan. A convenient sample of 301 mothers of newborns was interviewed to collect data, using structured questionnaires about their knowledge and attitudes regarding the newborn screening.

Effect of Metformin on Anthropometric Measurements and Hormonal and Biochemical Profile in Patients with Prediabetes.

Objectives: Metformin is the most widely preferred first-line oral antidiabetic agent that results in clear benefits in blood sugar regulation and diabetes-related complications. This study is aimed at assessing the effect of metformin on anthropometric, hormonal, and biochemical parameters in patients with prediabetes or insulin resistance.

Methods: A prepoststudy was conducted among 52 patients with prediabetes or insulin resistance who met the inclusion criteria.

Materials And Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 1382 Jordanian patients with T2DM in the period from January 2019 to January 2020.

Background: There is inconsistency in the relationship between sleeping measures and the occurrence of soccer injuries. Further, most studies investigated sleeping quantity and quality during soccer season but not during off-season. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of sleeping off-season and during soccer season on the occurrence of injuries in professional soccer players.

Programmed Death-Ligand 1 Expression in Breast Cancer Patients: Clinicopathological Associations from a Single-Institution Study.

Background: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a well-known risk factor for Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Patients with type 2 DM (T2DM) who have NAFLD are at a higher risk of developing advanced stages of liver disease, including fibrosis, cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma compared to non-diabetic patients. This study aimed to estimate the prevalence of NAFLD among patients with T2DM, using hepatic ultrasonographic changes combined with derangement of hepatic transaminases level.

Knowledge, attitudes, and impact of COVID-19 pandemic among neurology patients in Jordan: a cross-sectional study.

Background: The impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on health services offered to patients with non-communicable diseases, including chronic neurological illnesses, are diverse and universal. We used a self-reported questionnaire to investigate these impacts on neurology patients in Jordan and assess their knowledge and attitudes towards the pandemic.

Results: Most respondents had positive attitudes towards the COVID-19 pandemic, with 96% reporting they believed in the seriousness of the pandemic and adhered to prevention measures.

Purpose: The aim of the present study was to describe the local situation in community pharmacies in Jordan by assessing the baseline resources available in terms of workforce, premises and services provided.

Methods: A survey was developed and administered to community pharmacists from Amman, the capital of Jordan, and Irbid, a large city in North Jordan.
