Methods: A cross-sectional, online multinational survey was conducted from December 2023 to April 2024 among 525 academic medical staff.

Introduction: Idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) is a neurological disorder characterized by elevated intracranial pressure, predominantly affecting obese women of reproductive age. While GLP-1 receptor agonists have shown promise in IIH management, the potential of dual GIP/GLP-1 receptor activation through tirzepatide remains unexplored. This study aimed to evaluate tirzepatide's efficacy as an adjunctive therapy in IIH management.

Defects in meiosis I contribute to the genesis of androgenetic hydatidiform moles.

To identify novel genes responsible for recurrent hydatidiform moles (HMs), we performed exome sequencing on 75 unrelated patients who were negative for mutations in the known genes. We identified biallelic deleterious variants in 6 genes, FOXL2, MAJIN, KASH5, SYCP2, MEIOB, and HFM1, in patients with androgenetic HMs, including a familial case of 3 affected members. Five of these genes are essential for meiosis I, and their deficiencies lead to premature ovarian insufficiency.

This study aims to assess the level of evidence and the strength of recommendations compared to the previously published criteria.

Concurrent acute appendicitis and obstructive ureterolithiasis: a case report and review of literature.

The prediction of the coexistence of acute appendicitis and renal colic can be challenging, especially when the patient's symptoms point toward one diagnosis. In this case report, we describe a patient who presented to the emergency department with severe lower abdominal pain that was thought to be solely due to acute appendicitis. Further evaluation, however, revealed the simultaneous coexistence of a right ureteral stone, causing severe hydroureteronephrosis.

Recent reports have shown that pre-treatment low muscle mass may lead to poorer outcomes for cancer patients. We explored the correlation between Visceral Adipose Tissue (VAT), Subcutaneous Adipose Tissue (SAT), and Muscle Mass (MM) as measured by CT scans, and overall survival (OS) following diagnosis of colorectal cancer (CRC). We conducted a retrospective review of medical records and CT scans of patients diagnosed with CRC between 2007 and 2018.

Background: There is paucity of data on the prevalence of novel and traditional cardiovascular risk factors in young women with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) in the Middle East. We sought to evaluate clinical profiles and prevalence of novel and traditional risk factors in Middle Eastern young women with ASCVD compared with age-matched controls.

Methods: Women 18-50 years of age who have ASCVD were enrolled and each was aged-matched with two women with no ASCVD.

Introduction: Direct oral anticoagulant agents (DOACs) are indicated for stroke prevention in patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF). Reduced doses of DOACs are indicated in patients who have renal impairment and according to age and weight criteria. The aim of this study was to investigate the frequency, clinical factors, and impact on 1-year prognosis of underdosing DOACs.
