Background: LIGHT (oLaparib In HRD-Grouped Tumor types; NCT02983799) prospectively evaluated olaparib treatment in patients with platinum-sensitive relapsed ovarian cancer (PSROC) assigned to cohorts by known BRCA mutation (BRCAm) and homologous recombination deficiency (HRD) status: germline BRCAm (gBRCAm), somatic BRCAm (sBRCAm), HRD-positive non-BRCAm, and HRD-negative. At the primary analysis, olaparib treatment demonstrated activity across all cohorts, with greatest efficacy in terms of objective response rate and progression-free survival observed in the g/sBRCAm cohorts. The authors report final overall survival (OS).

Background And Aims: The recently approved maternal vaccination against respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) can reduce its burden among infants. However, vaccine hesitancy/resistance can undermine the beneficial impact of RSV vaccination. The aim of this study was to assess the willingness of pregnant women in Jordan to receive RSV vaccination and its associated determinants.

Background: The introduction of poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibitors represented a paradigm shift in the treatment of ovarian cancer. Genomic data from patients with high-grade ovarian cancer in six phase II/III trials involving the PARP inhibitor olaparib were analyzed to better understand patterns and potential causes of genomic instability.
Patients And Methods: Homologous recombination deficiency (HRD) was assessed in 2147 tumor samples from SOLO1, PAOLA-1, Study 19, SOLO2, OPINION, and LIGHT using next-generation sequencing technology.

Racecadotril, an anti-secretory medication, has been used as an adjuvant in an oral rehydration therapy for children experiencing severe diarrhea. Racecadotril is quickly converted to thiorphan, an active metabolite, after oral treatment, which mediates all subsequent activities. An efficient and rapid liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry method was developed and fully validated to measure thiorphan in human plasma, using thiorphan-d7 as an internal standard.

This study was conducted to compare dissolution profiles of four Jordanian registered sildenafil (SDF) products to the originator. Dissolution samples were analyzed utilizing a validated and stability-indicating HPLC method in human plasma. Validation was performed for specificity, linearity, limit of detection, lower limit of quantification, precision, trueness and stability.

Background And Aims: Nutritional status is essential for the maintenance of the immune system, with malnutrition suppressing immunity. The aims of the current study were to assess the immune status of a group of Jordanian adults and to evaluate the association between vitamin C, vitamin D, and zinc consumption and the Immune Status during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Methods: A total of 615 adults Jordanian participants were enrolled in this study, an online- based cross sectional survey was used as a tool for this study.

This case study highlights how a looming health crisis was leveraged as drivers for positive change for the health sector, in line with the health security agenda. In Jordan, several authorities are mandated by law to manage health emergencies. Following the declaration of outbreaks of cholera in Iraq, Lebanon and Syria, health authorities in Jordan called for a series of emergency meetings during September 2022 to discuss implications around travel and trade as well as shared waters.

Introduction: For mild to moderate male stress urinary incontinence (SUI), transobturator male slings remain an effective option for management. We aimed to use a machine learning (ML )-based model to predict those who will have a long-term success in managing SUI with male sling.
Methods: All transobturator male sling cases from August 2006 to June 2012 by a single surgeon were reviewed.

Background: Apitherapy is an emerging field in cancer research, particularly in developing communities. The potency of Melittin (MEL), a major constituent in bee venom is accounted for the cytotoxic capacity against cancer cells. It is postulated that the genotype of bees and the time of venom collection influences its specific activity against certain types of cancer.

Bevacizumab has demonstrated significant benefit in recurrent ovarian, fallopian tube and peritoneal cancer (OC), but its optimal position within the sequence of systemic therapies remains controversial. Since rebound progression after bevacizumab has been observed in other cancers, and because bevacizumab is incorporated in several regimens used in the recurrent setting, the duration of treatment may impact survival. We sought to identify whether earlier bevacizumab exposure is associated with prolonged bevacizumab therapy and survival by conducting a multi-institution retrospective study of recurrent OC patients treated with bevacizumab from 2004-2014.

Background: Job satisfaction among physiotherapists has been studied in many developing and developed countries, but not yet in areas recently affected by wars and refugee crises in the Middle East, including Jordan, Lebanon, West Bank, and Gaza regions.
Objectives: To explore physiotherapists' job satisfaction in Jordan, Lebanon, West Bank, and Gaza and examine differences in job satisfaction according to regions, gender, academic qualifications, and years of clinical experience.
Methods: A cross-sectional study using a self-administered online questionnaire.

Objective: Olaparib treatment resulted in significant improvement in objective response rates (ORRs) and progression-free survival (PFS) over non‑platinum chemotherapy in patients with BRCA1/BRCA2-mutated (BRCAm) platinum-sensitive relapsed ovarian cancer (PSROC) and ≥2 prior lines of platinum-based chemotherapy in the phase III SOLO3 study. LIGHT (NCT02983799) prospectively evaluated olaparib treatment for patients with PSROC and known BRCAm and homologous recombination deficiency (HRD) status.
Methods: In this phase II open-label multicenter study, patients with PSROC and ≥1 prior line of platinum-based chemotherapy were assigned to cohorts by presence of germline BRCAm (gBRCAm), somatic BRCAm (sBRCAm), HRD-positive tumors without BRCAm, or HRD-negative tumors.
