Background: The ACOSOG Z0011 (Z11) trial demonstrated that in patients with nonpalpable axillary lymph nodes (LN) and one to two positive sentinel LN (SLN), axillary LN dissection (ALND) is unnecessary.JAMA 305:569-575, [2011], Ann Surg 264:413-42, [2016] The Z11 trial did not require preoperative axillary ultrasound (axUS). In many centers, preoperative axUS is part of the standard workup of a newly diagnosed breast cancer patient, but in light of the Z11 results, its role is now questioned.

Given today's hurried and stressful heathcare system, nurses need mechanisms to take care of themselves, promote their own wellness, and build resilience in managing sick patients. Yoga is one such mechanism; it can decrease anxiety and improve sleep and quality of life. In this pilot study, nine nurses participated in 6 weekly sessions of yoga nidra.

Background: Emergency department (ED) patients are among the many groups at risk for prescription drug overdose. There is limited research on how best to communicate with ED patients about options for pain management and the risks of opioids. The aim of this study is to pilot test a web-based, patient-centred educational programme that encourages the patient to have an informed discussion about pain medication options with their ED provider.

Until recently, alloBMT was limited by donor availability and toxicity. Reduced intensity conditioning (RIC) combined with post-transplantation cyclophosphamide (PTCy) has improved the availability and safety of alloBMT permitting its exploration in severe-refractory autoimmune illnesses.

Postoperative bleeding is a major complication in patients who have been placed on extracorporeal circulatory support for various cardiac procedures (1). The increase in hemorrhage is well documented and is associated with various factors, which include, high-dose systemic heparinization, thrombocytopenia, and impaired platelet function. Platelets activate when exposed to the large foreign surface of the extracorpeal circuit, with the largest area being the oxygenator.
