Formal assessment of What Matters in end-of-life care is often done in medical settings through legal forms. Past research indicates that Native Hawaiians are less likely to complete these forms than Whites. The purpose of this study was to explore health care preferences among Native Hawaiian elders and to identify cultural themes that may impact quality care at end of life.

Given the high prevalence of Chagas disease in the Americas, we targeted the unique arginyl-tRNA synthetase of its causative agent Trypanosoma cruzi. Among their many possible uses, naphthalene-derived fluorescent ligands, such as ANS and bis-ANS, may be employed in pharmacokinetic research. Although ANS and bis-ANS have become prominent fluorescent probes for protein characterization, the structural and spectroscopic characteristics of protein-ANS/bis-ANS complexes remain largely unknown.

Background: DNA methylation (DNAm)-based marker of aging, referred to as 'epigenetic age' or 'DNAm age' is a highly accurate multi-tissue biomarker for aging, associated with age-related disease risk, including cancer. Breast cancer (BC), an age-associated disease, is associated with older DNAm age and epigenetic age acceleration (age accel) at tissue levels. But this raises a question on the predictability of DNAm age/age accel in BC development, emphasizing the importance of studying DNAm age in pre-diagnostic peripheral blood (PB) in BC etiology and prevention.

Method: Participants were 51 toddlers (29 Sibs-autism, 22 Sibs-NA) aged 12-18 months at the first time point in the study (Time 1). Toddlers were seen again 9 months later (Time 2).

Direct comparisons of technical and oncological outcomes with SLNB versus TAD are lacking.
Methods: We routinely performed SLNB from 2017 to 2018 for cN1 breast cancer patients who converted to cN0 after NAC, then adopted TAD from 2019 to 2022.

Chikungunya (CHIKV), o'nyong-nyong (ONNV), and Mayaro (MAYV) viruses are transmitted by mosquitoes and known to cause a debilitating arthritogenic syndrome. These alphaviruses have emerged and re-emerged, leading to outbreaks in tropical and subtropical regions of Asia, South America, and Africa. Despite their prevalence, there persists a critical gap in the availability of sensitive and virus-specific point-of-care (POC) diagnostics.

The retention of academic faculty, particularly in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN), has become a growing challenge in the post-COVID era. The healthcare landscape has been dramatically altered, leading to a "Great Exit" where a large number of faculty members are resigning or retiring early. This phenomenon is not just a financial burden as recruitment costs have skyrocketed, but also poses a threat to the stability and reputation of academic institutions.

Objective: Benzodiazepine rescue medications are established as therapy for acute termination of seizure clusters. A post-hoc analysis of a clinical trial of seizure cluster treatment with diazepam nasal spray found a potential longer-term impact over a year of treatment. In this retrospective analysis, we tested the hypothesis that benzodiazepine-treated seizure clusters are associated with prolonged time to the next seizure cluster compared with untreated seizure clusters in a patient-reported real-world database.
