This article studies the impact of primary care providers (PCPs) exit from the local health care system on patients' health care utilization. I compare patients with each other whose physicians have left the local health care system at different points in time due to retirement, relocation, or other reasons. Estimation results indicate that the imminent exit leads soon-leaving physicians to changing their treatment behavior, which has a significant impact on patients' health care spending.

Shape control of moderately thick piezoelectric beams.

What is new about primary cutaneous B cell lymphomas.

Primary cutaneous B-cell lymphomas (CBCL) are a heterogeneous group of B-cell lymphomas without evidence of extracutaneous disease at the time of diagnosis. The 2022 World Health Organization classification of mature lymphoid neoplasms differentiates the indolent primary cutaneous marginal zone lymphoproliferative disorder, primary cutaneous follicle center lymphoma and Epstein-Barr virus-positive mucocutaneous ulcer, from the more aggressive primary cutaneous diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, leg-type and intravascular large B-cell lymphoma. The new updates in the 2022 classification are based on recent scientific advances in the understanding and characterization of these entities.

Objective: Enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) recommendations for cesarean section (ERAC), likely the most common reason for laparotomy in women, were issued in 2018-19. We examined how current perioperative management at cesarean section in Austrian hospitals aligns with ERAS recommendations.

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) has been fatal to human health, affecting almost the entire world. Here we reported, for the first time, characterization of the genetic variants of SARS-CoV-2 circulating in Kuwait to understand their genetic diversity and monitor the accumulation of mutations over time. While Austrian social and healthcare service nonprofit organizations (NPOs) are key performers in the COVID-19 pandemic, we also notice their vulnerability in terms of struggling with this disruptive extreme context. The particularity of disruptive extreme contexts is that organizations commonly can neither anticipate them, nor prepare specific countermeasures or specialized resources for fighting against them. The highly calcium-selective transient receptor potential vanilloid-type channel TRPV6 is important for epithelial Ca transport. Proper regulation of the inherently constitutively active TRPV6 channels is intricate in preserving Ca homeostasis, whereby structural and functional data suggest that lipids hold an essential role. Compositional complementarity between genomic RNA and coat proteins in positive-sense single-stranded RNA viruses.

During packaging in positive-sense single-stranded RNA (+ssRNA) viruses, coat proteins (CPs) interact directly with multiple regions in genomic RNA (gRNA), but the underlying physicochemical principles remain unclear. Here we analyze the high-resolution cryo-EM structure of bacteriophage MS2 and show that the gRNA/CP binding sites, including the known packaging signal, overlap significantly with regions where gRNA nucleobase-density profiles match the corresponding CP nucleobase-affinity profiles. Moreover, we show that the MS2 packaging signal corresponds to the global minimum in gRNA/CP interaction energy in the unstructured state as derived using a linearly additive model and knowledge-based nucleobase/amino-acid affinities.

We examine the personal health situation and how the complexities thereof affect the elderly Austrians' willingness to accept electronic health records (EHR). Using data from the sixth wave of the SHARE survey in Austria, we find the complexity of individual health problems and the social integration of individuals influencing the acceptance of EHR. The higher the degree of multimorbidity, the more medication is prescribed, and the higher the number of hospital admissions, the higher is the acceptance of EHR.
