Diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs), a prevalent chronic disease caused by various factors, significantly impact patients' quality of life due to prolonged healing times and increased infection risks. Current treatment modalities, including pharmacological, physical, and surgical interventions, often yield limited efficacy and adverse effects, highlighting the urgent need for novel therapeutic strategies. The objective of this research is to create SIKVAV-modified chitosan hydrogels with the intention of improving the process of skin wound healing in diabetic mice.

While noble metal nanoparticles (MNPs) exhibit remarkable performance in heterogeneous catalysis and their incorporation into crystalline materials can fully exploit the combined advantages of both, achieving introduction of nanoclusters during material crystallization, precisely controlling their interactions, and facilitating catalyst recovery remain significant challenges. In this study, Au NPs, Pt NPs, and Pd NPs are supported on magnetic FeO, enabling the modulation of the electronic states of MNPs by adjusting the introduction method. Notably, the catalysts (Pt/FeO, Au/FeO, and Pd/FeO) demonstrate excellent activity in chemoselective reactions: cinnamaldehyde (CAL) hydrogenation (turnover number: 20,135 h), nitrobenzene hydrogenation (with 99.

The association between plasma low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) and atrial fibrillation (AF) recurrence after catheter ablation remains unclear. We aimed to assess the relationship between preprocedural LDL-C and the AF recurrence in patients undergoing catheter ablation. The cohort study consecutively included AF patients who underwent de novo catheter ablation between April 2021 and January 2023 in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University in Jiangxi Province, China.

Isoliquiritigenin (ISL), a naturally occurring flavonoid derived from licorice root, exhibits antioxidant, anticancer, anti-inflammatory, and anti-allergic properties, and is frequently detected in both environmental and human samples. Previous studies from our lab have demonstrated that ISL exposure can lead to developmental deformities and aberrant immune responses. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying ISL toxicity in zebrafish embryos remain incompletely elucidated.

Background: Bromodomain and extra terminal domain (BET) proteins are important epigenetic regulators that promote the transcription of genes in the chromatin region associated with acetylated histones. Small molecule BET inhibitor JQ1 suppresses the biologic function of BET proteins in a variety of tumors and inhibits their proliferation.
Methods: We investigated the effect of JQ1 in the treatment of pancreatic cancer.

Objective: MicroRNA-192-2 has been shown to have a role in the early diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), but the relationship between microRNA-192-2 and hepatitis B virus (HBV) in HCC patients remains unclear.
Methods: Specimens were collected from 56 HCC patients diagnosed with HBV infection and 56 HCC patients without viral infection. HBV and miR-129-2 levels in HCC tissues, adjacent tissues, and cell lines were analyzed by RT‒PCR.

Automatic segmentation of blood vessels in fundus images is important to assist ophthalmologists in diagnosis. However, automatic segmentation for Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography (OCTA) blood vessels has not been fully investigated due to various difficulties, such as vessel complexity. In addition, there are only a few publicly available OCTA image data sets for training and validating segmentation algorithms.

While various serum and tissue biomarkers have been explored for tumor diagnosis, the sensitivity and specificity have not yield optimal results. Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are more stable, conserved, and tissue-specific than linear RNA. Recent reports indicate that circRNAs could serve as potential biomarkers in the diagnosis or/and prognosis of tumors.

Gastrointestinal (GI) cancers are the most common malignancies, while surgical intervention remains the sole therapeutic approach offering the possibility of a definite cure for cancer. Perioperative anxiety negatively impacts the recovery of GI cancers. Recently, mounting studies have demonstrated that proper nursing interventions may alleviative perioperative anxious illnesses in patients with GI cancers.

Automatic segmentation of breast tumor ultrasound images can provide doctors with objective and efficient references for lesions and regions of interest. Both dataset optimization and model structure optimization are crucial for achieving optimal image segmentation performance, and it can be challenging to satisfy the clinical needs solely through model structure enhancements in the context of insufficient breast tumor ultrasound datasets for model training. While significant research has focused on enhancing the architecture of deep learning models to improve tumor segmentation performance, there is a relative paucity of work dedicated to dataset augmentation.

For graphene/copper (Gr/Cu) composites, achieving high-quality interfaces between Gr and Cu (strong interfacial bonding strength and excellent electron transport performance) is crucial for enabling their widespread applications in electronic devices. This study employs first-principles calculations and the nonequilibrium Green's function method to systematically investigate the mechanical and electrical conductivity properties of Cu(111)/Gr/Cu(111) interfaces with various stacking sequences and different forms of Gr. For these interface systems, the binding energy, separation work, charge transfer, and electrical conductivity across the interface were obtained.

Background: The disorder of uric acid metabolism is closely associated with gut microbiota and short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) dysregulation, but the biological mechanism is unclear, limiting the development of uric acid-lowering active polysaccharides. Konjac glucomannan (KGM) could attenuate metabolic disturbance of uric acid and modulate the gut microbiota. However, the relationship between uric acid metabolism and gut microbiota is still unknown.
