While noble metal nanoparticles (MNPs) exhibit remarkable performance in heterogeneous catalysis and their incorporation into crystalline materials can fully exploit the combined advantages of both, achieving introduction of nanoclusters during material crystallization, precisely controlling their interactions, and facilitating catalyst recovery remain significant challenges. In this study, Au NPs, Pt NPs, and Pd NPs are supported on magnetic FeO, enabling the modulation of the electronic states of MNPs by adjusting the introduction method. Notably, the catalysts (Pt/FeO, Au/FeO, and Pd/FeO) demonstrate excellent activity in chemoselective reactions: cinnamaldehyde (CAL) hydrogenation (turnover number: 20,135 h), nitrobenzene hydrogenation (with 99.

Isoliquiritigenin (ISL), a naturally occurring flavonoid derived from licorice root, exhibits antioxidant, anticancer, anti-inflammatory, and anti-allergic properties, and is frequently detected in both environmental and human samples. Previous studies from our lab have demonstrated that ISL exposure can lead to developmental deformities and aberrant immune responses. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying ISL toxicity in zebrafish embryos remain incompletely elucidated.

While various serum and tissue biomarkers have been explored for tumor diagnosis, the sensitivity and specificity have not yield optimal results. Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are more stable, conserved, and tissue-specific than linear RNA. Recent reports indicate that circRNAs could serve as potential biomarkers in the diagnosis or/and prognosis of tumors.

On efficient expanding training datasets of breast tumor ultrasound segmentation model.

Comput Biol Med

December 2024

School of Modern Information Technology, Zhejiang Polytechnic University of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, 528 Binwen Road, Binjiang District, Hangzhou, 310053, Zhejiang, China. Electronic address:

Automatic segmentation of breast tumor ultrasound images can provide doctors with objective and efficient references for lesions and regions of interest. Both dataset optimization and model structure optimization are crucial for achieving optimal image segmentation performance, and it can be challenging to satisfy the clinical needs solely through model structure enhancements in the context of insufficient breast tumor ultrasound datasets for model training. While significant research has focused on enhancing the architecture of deep learning models to improve tumor segmentation performance, there is a relative paucity of work dedicated to dataset augmentation.

Unlabelled: Autophagy is a cellular self-defense mechanism by which cells can kill invading pathogenic microorganisms and increase the presentation of components of pathogens as antigens. Contrarily, pathogens can utilize autophagy to enhance their own replication. Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) NSP6 can interact with ATPase proton pump component to inhibit lysosomal acidification, which was implicated in the autophagy process.

  • Recent studies suggest that normobaric hyperoxia (NBO) may help protect the blood-brain barrier (BBB) during acute stroke treatment, but its effects on human patients need more investigation.
  • In a study involving 86 patients, those treated with NBO alongside endovascular therapy (EVT) showed significantly lower levels of BBB damage and brain injury markers compared to those receiving EVT alone.
  • The findings indicate that NBO therapy could be beneficial in preserving BBB integrity and reducing complications in acute stroke patients, as evidenced by lower rates of intracranial contrast extravasation.
