Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) can preferentially absorb the released ammonium (NH) over nitrate (NO) during litter decomposition. However, the impact of AMF's absorption of NH on litter nitrogen (N) decomposition is still unclear. In this study, we investigated the effects of AMF uptake for NH on litter N metabolic characteristics by enriching NH via AMF suppression and nitrification inhibition in a subtropical forest.

To address the challenge of low recognition accuracy in transformer fault detection, a novel method called swarm budorcas taxicolor optimization-based multi-support vector (SBTO-MSV) is proposed. Firstly, a multi-support vector (MSV) model is proposed to realize multi-classification of transformer faults based on dissolved gas data. Then, a swarm budorcas taxicolor optimization (SBTO) algorithm is proposed to iteratively search the optimal model parameters during MSV model training, so as to obtain the most effective transformer fault diagnosis model.

A copper-catalyzed domino addition/cyclization reaction was developed to synthesize novel benzoselenazole-linked 1,2,3-triazole and tetracyclic fused 12-benzo[4,5]selenazole[2,3-]quinazolin-12-one derivatives from isoselenocyanates. This domino reaction efficiently constructed multiple new chemical bonds in a single step, forming either four (one C-Se and three C-) or three (one C-Se and two C-) bonds. The reaction offers several key advantages, including mild conditions, broad substrate compatibility, and straightforward and safe operation.

Real-time online optimisation plays a crucial role in high-frequency trading (HFT) strategies. The Markowitz model, as a Nobel Prize-winning framework, is widely used for portfolio management optimisation by framing the problem as a constrained quadratic programming task. While conventional analytical methods are typically effective for solving quadratic programming problems with linear constraints, the introduction of both linear equality and inequality constraints in the Markowitz model necessitates the use of numerical methods.

Scorpion insect neurotoxin LqhIT2 is a promising oral biopesticide: high-level preparation in Pichia pastoris and bioactivity assays.

Pest Manag Sci

December 2024

Postdoctoral Mobile Station of Biology, Genetic Engineering Research Center, College of Life Sciences, Chongqing University, Chongqing, China.

Background: Discovering insecticidal proteins with high activity and strict insect specificity and applying them to the biological control of insect pests is of great significance. Oral LqhIT2 has insecticidal activity, which most other insecticidal neurotoxin proteins do not have, but the large-scale preparation of the toxin is difficult and one of the obstacles to determining its anti-insect potential for biological control.

Results: In this study, the expression level of recombinant LqhIT2 (rLqhIT2) in Pichia pastoris was as high as 1.
