Objective: To determine accuracy of SAGES, ASGE and ESGE criteria for predicting presence of common bile duct (CBD) stones.

Methods: In a prospective study at Jinnah Hospital Lahore from March 2021 to February 2022, patients with suspected CBD stone were stratified in High risk (HR), intermediate risk (IR) and low risk (LR) for SAGES, ASGE and ESGE criteria. All patients underwent ERCP and risk strata were analyzed using SPSS 22® for sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV), negative predictive value (NPV) and accuracy.

Antineutrophil Cytoplasmic Antibody (ANCA)-Associated Renal Vasculitis Following COVID-19 Vaccination: A Case Report and Literature Review.

Antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)-associated vasculitis (AAV) is an immune-mediated disorder of small and medium-sized vessels, characterized by the production of autoantibodies that target the neutrophilic antigens leading to mononuclear cell infiltration and destruction of blood vessels in lungs, skin, and kidneys. Although rare, the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccine may trigger autoimmune vasculitis. We report a rare case of ANCA-associated renal vasculitis following COVID-19 vaccination in a 59-year-old male who presented with flu-like symptoms and deranged renal function tests.

The number of people who are using prescribed medications is on the rise, largely due to an ageing population in the UK, but also because of early diagnosis and prompt medical management of a variety of conditions. Systemic medications may contribute to the development of oral side effects and translate into an increasing number of patients presenting in general dental practice settings. The aim of this paper is to provide an outline of oral side effects of systemic medications followed by a review of drug-associated oral ulcers (DAOUs).

Concurrent Typhoid Fever and Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever: A Case Report.

Dengue virus can co-infect with a number of viruses, bacteria, and parasites of which dengue malaria co-infection is most well-known. We report a rare case of dengue virus co-infection with typhoid fever and the development of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) during a dengue outbreak. The second spike of high-grade fever following initial defervescence with antibiotic therapy, hemorrhagic manifestations, new onset leucopenia and thrombocytopenia, and evidence of plasma leakage raised suspicion of DHF.
