Oligoasthenozoospermia (OAS) is one of the most common types of male infertility, which, however, still lacks effective treatment. An increasing number of studies have shown the potential therapeutic value of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid (ω-3 PUFA) in the treatment of OAS. This article presents an overview of the studies on the effects of ω-3 PUFA on fatty acid composition and metabolism, inflammatory response, and oxidative stress in OAS, hoping to provide some new ideas for the treatment of the disease.

Prostate cancer (PCa) is one of the common tumors in the genitourinary system, with an increasing morbidity and mortality in China. Recent studies show that autophagy plays an important pathophysiological role in many diseases, including cancers. Besides, some miRNAs are also key regulatory factors for autophagy in PCa cells, and play an important role in the development, progression, diagnosis and treatment of PCa.

Chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CP/CPPS), as a common male urogenital system disease, has made significant progress in the field of physical therapy in recent years. With the characteristics of non-invasiveness, low side effects, clear effectiveness and high patient compliance, physical therapy has gradually become one of the vital methods for the treatment of CP/CPPS. In the physical therapy of chronic prostatitis, the commonly used methods mainly include prostate massage, biofeedback, magnetic therapy, ultrasound and shock wave therapy, hyperthermia, acupuncture and electrophysiological therapy.

Prostate cancer(PCa)is the most common malignant tumor in male genitourinary system. In China, the incidence of PCa is increasing significantly, which seriously endangers the physical and mental health of Chinese men. Programmed cell death(PCD)is a kind of active and orderly cell death mode, which exists widely in the process of life activities.

Objective: To investigate the inhibitory effect of oxalis on prostate tumor in the mouse model of castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) and its action mechanism.
Methods: We established a CRPC model in 40 male C57/BL mice aged 6-8 weeks, divided them randomly into four groups of an equal number, and treated them intragastrically with normal saline (control), low-dose oxalis (5 mg/kg/d), medium-dose oxalis (10 mg/kg/d), and high-dose oxalis (15 mg/kg/d), respectively. After 28 days of treatment, we measured the tumor volume and body weight of the mice in different groups, calculated the tumor-inhibition rate, examined the histomorphological changes of the prostate tumors by HE staining, and detected the expressions of the nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) signaling pathway and its downstream proteins in the tumor tissue by immunofluorescence assay.

Objective: To construct and verify a key gene signature of the basement membrane of prostate cancer (PCa) to predict the progression and biochemical recurrence of the malignancy after radical prostatectomy.
Methods: Based on the PCa-related transcriptome, gene mutation and clinical data from the Cancer Genome Atlas Project (TCGA) database, we analyzed the differentially expressed genes (DEG) related to the basement membrane in the PCa and adjacent normal prostate tissues, and subjected them to GO function enrichment and KEGG pathway enrichment analyses. We identified prognosis-related genes from the DEGs and analyzed their mutations.

Objective: To explore the value of miR-129 in the diagnosis, treatment and prediction of the clinical prognosis of PCa by observing the correlation between miR-129 and the progression of the malignancy.
Methods: This retrospective analysis included 310 male patients who visited the Department of Urology of the General Hospital of Eastern Theater Command from January 2014 to January 2022, 80 as normal healthy men, 80 with BPH, and the other 150 with PCa treated by radical prostatectomy without chemotherapy, radiotherapy or androgen-deprivation therapy. We determined the miR-129 expression in the serum and prostatic tissue of all the subjects by real-time quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR), performed pathological grading of the primary cancerous and pericancerous (≥ 3 cm from the focus) prostate tissues from the 150 PCa patients, collected the demographic and clinical data on all the subjects, and analyzed the correlation of their demographic data with the clinical parameters.

With changes in the modes of life and work, infertility is becoming a serious international problem. The incidence of infertility is 10-15% of the couples of childbearing age in China and is increasing year by year, and 30-50% of the cases are related to male factors. Trace elements refer to the chemical elements that account for less than 1/10,000 of the total weight of the human body, of which less than 100 mg is required per person per day.

Objective: To study the therapeutic targets and related signaling pathways of Jiarong Tablets (JRT) in the treatment of late-onset hypogonadism (LOH) in males by network pharmacology, and further analyze its potential action mechanism.
Methods: Using the Chinese Medicine System Pharmacology Analysis Platform (TCMSP), we obtained the active ingredients and therapeutic targets of JRT, disease targets of LOH through the GeneCards and OMIM databases, and drug-disease common targets, followed by drawing a Vennny's diagram of the common targets. We constructed a protein-protein interaction (PPI) network of the common targets using STRING and an intersection network of JRT active ingredients-LOH-targets with Cytoscape 3.

Prostate cancer (PCa) is one of the most common tumors of the male urogenital system, ranking the second among male malignancies worldwide. Age is a major risk factor for PCa, and population aging leads to an increasing incidence of the malignancy. Androgen-deprivation therapy (ADT) is currently the first-line treatment of PCa, but with the advance of the tumor, many of the patients become resistant to ADT and develop castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC), which marks a transition of PCa to a hormone-refractory state associated with a poor prognosis.

Objective: To investigate the biological mechanisms underlying the effect of the Chinese herbal medicine Oxalis corniculata on human prostate cancer PC-3 cells.
Methods: Through in vitro experiment, we treated human prostate cancer PC-3 cells with different concentrations of Oxalis corniculata, assessed the viability of the cells by MTT assay, examined their apoptosis by flow cytometry, evaluated their migration and invasiveness by Transwell assay, and determined the expressions of the proteins p65, p-p65, IκBα and p-IκBα in the NF-κB pathway using protein imprinting technology.
Results: Compared with the blank control, Oxalis corniculata significantly inhibited the proliferation and induced the apoptosis of the PC-3 cells (P< 0.
