Activation-induced cytidine deaminase overexpression in double-hit lymphoma: potential target for novel anticancer therapy.

Sci Rep

August 2020

Bone Marrow Transplantation Center, The First Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine, Hangzhou, 310003, Zhejian, People's Republic of China.

Activation-induced cytidine deaminase (AID) is one kind of the mutant enzymes, which target regulating the immunoglobulin (Ig) gene in Burkitt's lymphoma to initiate class switch recombination (CSR), resulting in c-Myc chromosomal translocation. However, it is not clear that whether AID induces c-Myc/IgH translocation in double-hit lymphoma (DHL) with c-Myc gene translocation. In this study, the AID in DHL tissues and classical diffuse large b-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) tissues were compared.

Diabetic foot ischemia and ulcer (DFU) persists as a serious diabetes mellitus complication in spite of increased understanding of the pathophysiology and the cellular and molecular responses. Contributing to this pessimistic situation is the lack of effective treatments that are slow to heal the deep chronic wounds and microvascular obstruction. Mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) have been tested as a promising cell-based therapy for diabetes in vitro and in vivo, which is able to accelerate wound closure with increased epithelialization, granulation tissue formation and angiogenesis by differentiation into skin cells and paracrine pathways to repair injured cells.

Cyclin F and KIF20A, FOXM1 target genes, increase proliferation and invasion of ovarian cancer cells.

Exp Cell Res

October 2020

Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Qilu Hospital, Cheeloo College of Medicine, Shandong University, Jinan, 250012, China. Electronic address:

Increased expression of FOXM1 is observed in a variety of human malignancies. The downstream target genes of FOXM1 involved in tumorigenesis and development are not fully elucidated in ovarian cancer. Here, we identified Cyclin F, a substrate recognition subunit of SCF (Skp1-Cul1-F-box protein) complex, and Kinesin Family Member 20A (KIF20A) were transcriptionally regulated by FOXM1 in ovarian cancer.

Objective: To establish a clinical prediction model of the mid-term fatality risk after radical resection in patients with primary hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) based on the albumin-bilirubin (ALBI) grade and to assess its prediction value.

Methods: Clinical data of 533 patients who received HCC radical resection in Jinhua Hospital of Zhejiang University, Jinhua People's Hospital, Jinhua Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Jinhua Guangfu Hospital from January 2010 to August 2016 were retrospectively reviewed. In the training group ( =407), Cox model was used to screen the clinical risk factors of postoperative death, and a predictive model based on ALBI grade was established and then examined in the validation group ( =126).

Background: Serine provides important precursors of protein, lipid, and nucleotide synthesis needed for tumor cell growth. Phosphoglycerate dehydrogenase (PHGDH), a key rate-limiting enzyme in the serine de novo synthesis pathway, is highly expressed in many tumor types (including gastric cancer) and negatively correlated with overall survival. Cisplatin is a chemotherapeutic drug commonly used in the treatment of gastric cancer.

The Role of D-3-Phosphoglycerate Dehydrogenase in Cancer.

Int J Biol Sci

August 2021

Central Laboratory, Jinhua Hospital of Zhejiang University, Jinhua 321000, Zhejiang Province, China.

Serine, a non-essential amino acid, can be imported from the extracellular environment by transporters and synthesized from glycolytic 3-phosphoglycerate (3-PG) in the serine biosynthetic pathway (SSP). It has been reported that active serine synthesis might be needed for the synthesis of proteins, lipids, and nucleotides and the balance of folate metabolism and redox homeostasis, which are necessary for cancer cell proliferation. Human D-3-phosphoglycerate dehydrogenase (PHGDH), the first and only rate-limiting enzyme in the serine biosynthetic pathway, catalyzes the oxidation of 3-PG derived from glycolysis to 3-phosphohydroxypyruvate (3-PHP).

The overexpression of PDGF-BB and its receptor is correlated with lymphatic metastasis in patients with non-small cell lung cancer.

Int J Clin Exp Pathol

December 2018

Department of Medical Sciences, Jinhua Polytechnic Jinhua City, Zhejiang, P. R. China.

The metastasis of tumors through lymphatic vessels is an important adverse prognostic factor for human cancers. Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is one of the most common types of lung cancers, and usually occurs with metastasis at an early stage and has a poor prognosis. Lymphatic metastasis is the most common route of lung cancer metastasis, and it requires the interaction of multiple growth factors.
