The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of vascular endothelial growth factor-C (VEGF-C) expression in tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) on lymphatic microvessel density (LMVD) and lymphatic endothelial cell proliferation (LECP) and to determine the role of VEGF-C expression in lymphangiogenesis in patients with breast cancer. Breast cancer tissue specimens confirmed by pathological analysis were obtained from 75 patients. Samples were observed by microscopy analysis after immunohistochemical double‑staining.

The μ(3)-2-fluoro-benzoate ligand bridges three symmetry-related Sr(II) atoms, giving rise to a chain structure extending along [010]. The polymeric chains are connected via O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into a two-dimensional supra-molecular structure parallel to (100).

Polymorphisms in the endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) gene may influence the risk of ischemic stroke, but data from published studies with individually low statistical power are conflicting. The title complex, [Zn(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(4)](C(9)H(7)O(3))(2), was obtained by the hydro-thermal reaction of zinc sulfate with mixed 4-hydroxy-lcinnamic acid (H(2)L) and 4,4'-bipyridine (4,4'-bipy) ligands. The complex consists of a centrosymmetric [Zn(4,4'-bipy)(2)(H(2)O)(4)](2+) cation with the metal centre in a distorted ZnN(2)O(4) coordination, and of two HL(-) anions. Extensive O-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen-bonding inter-actions between the constituents lead to the formation of a three-dimensional network.
