Objectives: We aim to investigate the regulatory mechanisms of miR-455-5p/SOCS3 pathway that underlie the proliferation, migration, and invasion of triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) cells.
Methods: Reverse transcription-quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR) was used to detect miR-455-5p expression in breast cancer tissues and cell lines. CCK8 and Transwell assays were conducted to assess the effects of miR-455-5p on breast cancer line proliferation, migration, and invasion.

In this study, we investigated the mechanism of action of COL3A1 in various types of cancers by bioinformatics analysis and designed some specific inhibitors aimed at the treatment of this gene. We found that COL3A1 was highly expressed in several cancer types and correlated with tumor progression and prognosis. Through systems biology analysis, we identified a central role for COL3A1 in cancer development, including cell proliferation, metastasis and invasion.

Laser polishing is a noncontact and efficient processing method for surface treatment of different materials. It removes surface material and improves its quality by means of a laser beam that acts directly on the surface of the material. The material surface roughness is a major criterion that evaluates the polishing effect when alumina ceramics are polished by a laser.

In this study, corn films based on corn starch were fabricated through the casting method, and various plasticizers (namely, erythritol and d-mannitol) were incorporated. The study delved into the gelatinization and physicochemical characteristics of these corn starch-based films. Additionally, the impact of different ratios of plasticizers on reductive gelatinization was assessed using RVA analysis.

Li-rich layered oxides (LLOs) are among the most promising cathode materials with high theoretical specific capacity (>250 mAh g ). However, capacity decay and voltage hysteresis due tostructural degradation during cycling impede the commercial application of LLOs. Surface engineering and element doping are two methods widely applied tomitigate the structural degradation.

Doping metal heteroatoms is an effective strategy to regulate the geometric and electronic structure of boron based nanoclusters. However, the exploration of the ground state structures of metal-boron-based nanoclusters is still a challenge duo to the complexity of the bonding interactions between heterogeneous atoms and boron cluster and the number of isomers on the potential energy surface increases exponentially with cluster size. Here, we use the CALYPSO cluster structural search method in combination with density functional theory calculations to study the geometries and electronic properties of anionic boron clusters doped with plutonium (PuBn-,= 10-20).

Ferroptosis suppressor protein 1 (FSP1, also known as AIMF2, AMID or PRG3) is a recently identified glutathione-independent ferroptosis suppressor, but its underlying structural mechanism remains unknown. Here we report the crystal structures of Gallus gallus FSP1 in its substrate-free and ubiquinone-bound forms. The structures reveal a FAD-binding domain and a NAD(P)H-binding domain, both of which are shared with AIF and NADH oxidoreductases, and a characteristic carboxy-terminal domain as well.

Marigold (Tagetes erecta) is an annual herbaceous flower belonging to Asteraceae, whose capitulum is composed of bilateral symmetry ray florets on the outer periphery and radial symmetry disk florets on the inside. The flower symmetry evolution from radial symmetry to bilateral symmetry has changed the morphology, inflorescence architecture and function of florets among several lineages in Asteraceae. Several studies have identified that CYC2 genes in TCP transcription factor family are the key genes regulating the flower morphogenesis, such as corolla symmetry and stamen development.

By adjusting the reactants and reaction conditions, the particle size and surface state of fluorescent carbon dots (CDs) can be controlled, and CDs with different photoluminescence colors can be finally prepared. However, this multi-step procedure is relatively time-consuming and complex. Therefore, it is of great significance to explore a more convenient and efficient preparation route.

Orthopedic tissue engineering is a rapidly evolving field that holds great promise for the reconstruction and natural repair of bone and joint tissues. Bone loss, fractures, and joint degeneration are common problems that can result from a variety of pathological conditions, and their restoration and replacement are essential not only for functional purposes but also for improving the quality of life for patients. However, current methods rely heavily on artificial materials that can potentially lead to further tissue damage, making tissue engineering a highly attractive alternative.

The prevalence and adverse effects of learning burnout are a major concern in higher education. Based upon JD-R and COR theories, this study modeled the associations among social support that teachers and peers provide in class, academic buoyancy, learning burnout, and class level with respect to the degree of English proficiency. A sample of 1955 Chinese EFL learners in higher education participated in the cross-sectional survey.

Background: The lack of integrated analysis of genome-wide association studies (GWAS) and 3D epigenomics restricts a deep understanding of the genetic mechanisms of meat-related traits. With the application of techniques as ChIP-seq and Hi-C, the annotations of cis-regulatory elements in the pig genome have been established, which offers a new opportunity to elucidate the genetic mechanisms and identify major genetic variants and candidate genes that are significantly associated with important economic traits. Among these traits, loin muscle depth (LMD) is an important one as it impacts the lean meat content.

Photoelectrochemical (PEC) enzymatic biosensors have attracted widespread attention for their specificity and sensitivity, but the charge migration between an enzyme and a semiconductor remains uncertain. In this work, horseradish peroxidase (HRP) was successfully immobilized on ionic liquid-functioned Cu@CuO (IL-Cu@CuO) aerogels to boost charge transfer and an interfacial redox reaction. The photogenerated electrons flow from the conduction band of CuO to HRP under the assistance of Cu and are subsequently captured by [Fe(CN)] in the electrolyte, which boosts the PEC response.
