Objective: This study aims to explore the relationship between maternal mental health during early pregnancy and the risk of spontaneous abortion (SA), especially in the context of the Coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic.
Methods: We conducted a prospective cohort study involving 4088 pregnant women at a maternal-child health hospital in China from January to December 2022. During the first trimester, we assessed depression, anxiety, and stress levels using the Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale (DASS-21).

Background: Culex pipiens pallens and Culex pipiens quinquefasciatus are the dominant species of Culex mosquitoes in China and important disease vectors. Long-term use of insecticides can cause mutations in the voltage-gated sodium channel (vgsc) gene of mosquitoes, but little is known about the current status and evolutionary origins of vgsc gene in different geographic populations. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the current status of vgsc genes in Cx.

Objective: This study aimed to develop and internally validate a prediction model for estimating the risk of spontaneous abortion in early pregnancy.
Methods: This prospective cohort study included 9,895 pregnant women who received prenatal care at a maternal health facility in China from January 2021 to December 2022. Data on demographics, medical history, lifestyle factors, and mental health were collected.

This study aimed to analyze the trends of childhood pneumonia before and after the corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic in Laiwu, China, and explore the associated risk factors to provide a reference for the prevention, control, and treatment of childhood pneumonia. In this cross-sectional study, data were collected from 11,716 children aged 3 to 12 years who underwent chest radiography/computed tomography from January 2018 to December 2021 in Laiwu, China. The generalized estimating equation model was used to analyze the time trend of the pneumonia detection rate.

Background: Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) belongs to a progressive, gradual aortic rupture, which can lead to death without surgical intervention. The key factors regulating the occurrence and progress of AAA are not clear. Increasing studies have indicated that microRNA (miRNA) plays an important role in cancer development.

Preeclampsia (PE) is a severe medical disorder during pregnancy and there has been controversy about the effects of vitamin E on PE. This research intended to explore if δ-tocotrienol (δ-TT), an isomer of vitamin E, could impact PE. Preeclamptic and normal placentas were obtained and total RNA was extracted.

The present study aims to explore the function of human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell (BMSC)-derived exosomal micro ribonucleic acid (miR)-338-3p in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and further investigate its effect on HCC cell functions. Firstly, BMSCs were co-cultured with HCC cells, and BMSC-derived exosomes were identified. Next, Transwell assay and methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium (MTT) experiments were carried out to detect the effects of miR-338-3p and E26 transformation specific-1 (ETS1) on the viability, invasion, migration, and apoptosis of HCC cells through the exosomes derived from BMSCs.

Background: At present, the relationship between thyrotropin (TSH) and free thyroxine (FT4) in relation to postmenstrual age (PMA) in preterm infants is still unclear, and there is no reliable standard thyroid hormone reference ranges, resulting in different diagnostic criteria for congenital hypothyroidism been used by different newborn screening programs and different countries.
Objectives: To investigate the relationship between TSH/FT4 and PMA in very preterm infants (VPIs) born with gestational age (GA) <32 weeks and to derive thyroid function reference charts based on PMA.
Methods: A prospective cohort study was performed on VPIs born with GA<32 weeks and born in or transferred to the 27 neonatal intensive care units from January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019.

Objective: This experiment aims to elucidate the role of PKMYT1 in the malignant progression of ovarian cancer (OC) and its underlying mechanism.
Patients And Methods: Expression pattern of PKMYT1 in 43 paired OC tissues and adjacent normal ones was determined by quantitative Real Time-Polymerase Chain Reaction (qRT-PCR). The potential relationship between PKMYT1 level and clinical data of OC patients was analyzed.

Objective: This study aims to investigate the role of solute transport family 5 member 8 (SLC5A8) in the progress of cervical cancer (CC) to provide a theoretical basis for the treatment of CC.
Patients And Methods: Tissues were obtained from 58 patients diagnosed with CC in our hospital. Real Time-quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-qPCR) analysis was used to detect the expression level of SLC5A8 in CC tissues and cell lines.

To elucidate the potential function of miRNA-221 in gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and the underlying mechanism. MiRNA-221 level was analyzed in the microarray containing placental tissues of GDM rats. After constructing GDM model in rats, miRNA-221 level in placental tissues of GDM rats or controls was determined as well.
