Aging often triggers dental pulp fibrosis, resulting in clinical repercussions such as increased susceptibility to dental infections, compromised tooth vitality, and reduced responsiveness to dental interventions. Despite its prevalence, the precise molecular mechanisms underlying this condition remains unclear. Leveraging single-cell transcriptome analysis from both our own and publicly available datasets, we identified Ccrl2 macrophages as particularly vulnerable during the early stages of aging.

Flexible covalent organic frameworks (COFs) offer distinct advantages in elasticity and adaptability over rigid COFs, but these benefits often come at the expense of crystallinity due to challenges in polymerization, complicating both synthesis and structural characterization. Current research primarily employs single flexible monomers, which limits the tunability of these frameworks. In this study, we introduce two highly crystalline, flexible COFs, ZCST-102 and ZCST-103, constructed from dual flexible monomers.

The unique adhesion capabilities of soft-bodied creatures such as leeches and octopuses have provided considerable inspiration for the development of artificial adhesive materials. However, previous studies have either focused on the design of sucker structures or concentrated on the synthesis of adhesive materials, with the combination of these two aspects not yet having been deeply investigated. In this study, inspired from leech's unique adsorption ability, a biomimetic approach is proposed that combined artificial sucker and mucus, to achieve remarkable adhesion stability on rough surfaces using 5 cm diameter silicone suction cups.

Background: Recent studies have emphasized the association between prolonged screen exposure and neurodevelopmental disorders, though its correlation with tic disorders (TDs) remains ambiguous. We thus conducted this study to investigate the association between screen time (ST) and the severity of tic symptoms in children diagnosed with TDs.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective case-control study with 342 cases of TDs and 270 controls, collecting data from March 2021 to December 2023.

A total of 7 patients with type 1 infratentorial superficial siderosis(iSS-1)in Memory Clinic at Huashan Hospital, Fudan University from March 2019 to March 2023 were respectively collected to analyze the clinical characteristics and treatment, and followed up for 12 months. There were 7 patients, 2 males and 5 females, aged 56 (49-60) years. The 4 patients who underwent cognitive assessment had varying degree of cognitive impairment, with 2 patients exhibiting severe executive function impairment.

Phthalate esters, particularly di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), are widely used plasticizers found in various consumer products, posing significant environmental and health risks due to their endocrine-disrupting effects. In this study, a novel enzyme-free intra-capacitive biofuel cell self-powered sensor (ICBFC-SPS) was developed. A new type of filler was added to epoxy resin to prepare a composite coating with excellent corrosion and weathering resistance. The simple synthesis process and nonpolluting raw materials of this filler contribute to the development of green chemistry. Specifically, lignin was encapsulated in mesoporous silica, the synergistic effect between the two resulted in the formation of lignin/mesoporous silica composite particles (MSN-L) with excellent ultraviolet (UV) resistance.

Corynoline (COR) is an isoquinoline alkaloid derived from the traditional Chinese medicine Corydalis bungeana Turcz, known for its analgesic, antibacterial, neuroprotective, and osteoporosis-alleviating properties. However, its potential molecular effects against osteosarcoma (OS) remain unclear, warranting further investigation. This study demonstrated that COR inhibits OS cell proliferation and promotes apoptosis in a dose-dependent manner.

The intestine features a two-front nutrient supply environment, comprising an enteral side enriched with microbial and dietary metabolites and a serosal side supplied by systemic nutrients, collectively supporting intestinal and systemic homeostasis, but there is currently no optimal approach for extracting and assessing the local intestinal microenvironment. Here, we present a protocol for constructing a nutrient supply model in mice and extracting gut interstitial fluid (GIF) via centrifugation. This model and the extracted GIF are suitable for downstream analyses.
